This thread is most likely directed at about 4 people here that are as old as I am.
When I heard that Alan Parsons Project song "Games People Play" the other day it got me thinking about 45s. I had that one as a kid (for some reason).
What are some of the 45s that you had?
Some of the ones that I can recall are
Whip It – Devo
Another One Bites the Dust – Queen
Theme From Greatest American Hero - ?
Centerfold – J. Geils Band
Electric Ave. – Eddy Grant
I’ll prolly think of more later.
I even remember the look/color of the labels on the actual record albums themselves for some of these.
I have a couple stacks of old 45s. Mostly 50s / 60s rock. I think I inherited a stack of really old ones too, waltz music n shit from the 20s or 30s.

I had tons of them. Even had The Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin on 45.
That is all. I'm not nostalgic for junk. But I will tell you this: I think CD's suck. Cassette tapes were the bestest. You could beat the fuck out of them things and they never gave up.

i only have a record player and an mp3 player. my 400 or so cd collection (mostly cd-r's) is damn near junk.
i have tons of vinyl (30s? what do you call a full album? LP?), but no 45's. i dont really see the point. records are a big enough pain turning over a side when a side is 4 or 5 songs, why would i want to switch after 1?
and why would i want an immigrant song 45 when i'd rather have a zeppelin III record?

had the Superbowl Shuffle
I'm within 5 feet of probably, 300 LPs. Mostly tekner and DnB.. but I have a decent collection of Beatles, Floyd, and Hendrix. Unfortunately my basement sprung a leak a few months ago. No major damage, but a few of the oldies had the previously mint sleeves rendered not so mint. I think the Beatles White Album soaking up some water pissed me off the most.

I own lots of vinyl, but no 45s. The only time I ever had 45s was when I was in kindergarten or so. I received a cheapass kiddie record player as a Christmas gift and got some pre-scratched discs. The only 45 I can remember playing is Yellow Submarine/Eleanor Rigby.

I don't know about cards, but I think these 4-5s beat a full house.

There were a ton of 45s in the house when I was growing up but by the time I started buying music for myself they had already started to fade out though I did buy a lot of LPs and 12" singles.
I even remember the look/color of the labels on the actual record albums themselves for some of these.
The only 45s I remember that clearly are from early childhood. I had 45s of the themes from spiderman and SWAT. I also remember playing a square, slightly warped "legend of sleepy hollow" 45 that I cut out from the back of a cereal box.

Oh man I remember those. I think they had em as part of happy meals or something too.

Yeah, I had one of those that was something like Spiderman meets the Conquistador
It was kind of creepy, IIRC

I was a much bigger fan of 8-tracks than I was of cereal-box 45s.
