Fucking queers, what are you doing in a dedicated series thread. Causing losses and whatnot.

Tahoe

what happened to cabrerra?

Cross

Cabrera, who remained in the game after he was hit in the first inning, left with a 1-2 count on him when he came up in the second. Ryan Raburn(notes) swung at the first pitch, which was in the dirt, to finish the at-bat; the strikeout is charged to Cabrera.

has avila had even an average at bat yet? it seems like every single time up the kid has a really strong at bat, driving up the pitch count and then usually hitting with a lot of power. unreal.

Someone here needs to promote Ray to Jinx police FAST. He should have full powers to delete any and all threads that will jinx Detroit teams. I am not kidding here; some people just don't get it.

I don't mean to argue semantics on you (well not too much anyway) but you do understand that if this stuff is further evidence of the pussification of America, you're implying that before there was no superstition in sports when actually it has always been there. In fact I'd say we had superstition much more so before than today.

Superstition has ALWAYS been a part of sports and still is today. Ask players who always put one shoe on before the other or make sure that they step a certain way when they take the field. You're implying it as something new and, well, you're just plain wrong. I'd also score you as wrong about limiting it to certain fans, don't you dare give Boston fans credit for something universal. Those jerks already do that enough on their own.

I'd also add that superstition adds to the fun of sports. Wearing your good luck shirt or making sure you only eat corned beef on game days adds to the experience. Of course deep down we know that we have no real effect on the game. It's just fun.

Yes, of course. And while you're at it, please call those hockey and football players Emo pussies for being superstitious too.

Also, Clint and the Duke couldn't hit a curve ball.

Because if you didn't throw it down the pipe, they'd kill you and not even get tossed for it. ESPN wouldn't even make a shitstorm out of it either. They'd just say serves him right for throwing a curve.. next.
