Is it just me, or is that a completely meaningless move?

Why couldn't we trade for one? We need a defensive specialist that can't hit.

Our batting order is already the most dominant in the league. Maybe we should move Miggy for a defensive 1st baseman.

Wow, it took five guys to be as good as that guy I've never heard of.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that Jack Wilson was the ingespiration for the "athletes that probably smell bad" thread.

I didn't mean it in a "Glan thinks he's never wrong, God what an asshole" way.

I like arrogance. Arrogance is funny, which is why Kstat's posts are so entertaining.

The Twinkies are having a hard time closing a deal with the A's for Orlando Cabrera. Hopefully it stays that way.

Cabrera deal got done.

Looks like Vic Martinez is heading to Boston.

With V-Mart going to Boston, Detroit could probably get a nice discount on Adam LaRoche- if they wanted.

why did boston get victor? to keep him away from the rays?

seems like theyre pretty solid already with youkilis and varitek.

i seriously considered buying a peavy sux jersey after he said no the first time. good thing i didnt, it would be worthless to me now.

Padres GM said he thinks it's 50-50 that Peavy even pitches again this season. That was a couple weeks ago, though.

Interesting note to piss off Glan.
I was just looking at the Pirates current 25-man roster. Everyone but Ramon Vasquez has 4 years or less of major league experience. Wow.

Vasquez and Yates (on DL) are the only guys older than 28.

Next years selling pieces: Capps, Duke, Maholm and Doumit. They all make over $2 million (but under $3 mill) so THEY'VE GOT TO GO!

Glenn

Yep yep.

That ballpark is the only reason anyone has for going to a game there.

The only thing that can save the Pirates is Mark Cuban, IMO.

It's sad because could you imagine an outfield of Bay, McLouth, and Nady PLUS guys like McCutchen and Morgan on the farm? Craig and Jack Wilson with Sanchez in the infiled, and Doumit catching?
Put that together with Duke, Snell, Ohlendorf and Karstens, Grabow and Capps in the pen - that team is competitive in the NL Central. Put some cash behind it and maybe they sign a solid free agent from time to time and use guys like McCutchen, Alvarez and Tabata as trade bait as buyers at the deadline.

I think "King" Felix is now officially overrated.

in 5 seasons he has 2 with winning records. I had him in fantasy ball a few years ago and he was very inconsistent. The last few years his ERA was 3.5-4.5 and his batting average allowed was .260-.280

Nothing stellar there. In fact he's pretty similar to Nate Robertson 2004-2007 numbers wise.
