A new hitting coach migh turn things around. Zekyl 07-23-2009, 06:29 PM He did get Inge swinging quite a bit better. That's the only positive I can think of. We got a new pitching coach and look how much that's improved. WTFchris 07-23-2009, 06:32 PM The Tigers were booed loudly after going out in order in the seventh. At that point, they had scored two runs in their last 22 innings. so add the 8th and 9th and you've got 2 runs in 24 innings! That's 0.75 runs per 9 innings. BTW, we've only scored more runs than 4 teams in the AL. b-diddy 07-23-2009, 07:09 PM good coach or not, you have to go by results. maybe the tigers have tuned him out. maybe he's not a good fit. i think i agree. this is brutal. DE 07-23-2009, 08:29 PM I've seen a couple of games lately and it's just amazing how often we're striking out with runners on base. And not just on good pitches, they're swinging at stuff that's WAY out of the zone. Is it the hitting coach who should be teaching them to lay of these pitches? DrRay11 07-23-2009, 08:30 PM I would think it's at least part of the hitting coach's job to teach plate discipline, yes. |
