Sources: Wermer was already out at UM

Former Michigan offensive lineman Kurt Wermers was academically ineligible when he announced his transfer to Ball State last week, sources told ESPN.com.

Wermers cited disagreements with head coach Rich Rodriguez and Michigan's assistant coaches as the primary reason for his decision to transfer. In an interview with The Times of Northwest Indiana, Wermers said he didn't get along with Rodriguez's staff or the types of players they were recruiting.

He even echoed former Michigan offensive lineman Justin Boren, who cited eroding family values as a reason for his transfer to Ohio State.

"Coach Carr's staff was a whole different ballgame," Wermers told the newspaper, referring to former Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr. "It was like a family. But when Rodriguez came in it was a whole different feeling. It was more of a business.

"I figured I'd get out while I could."

But according to sources with knowledge of the situation, Wermers was already out.

His academic struggles would have prevented him from suiting up with the Wolverines. Wermers wasn't even enrolled in summer school at the time of his departure.

The 6-foot-5, 289-pound Wermers did not see action in any games for Michigan in 2008.

Apparently, he also had disagreements with going to class.

Fuck Michigan for not wanting that kind of player.

I thought this thread was about Dean Wermer. Then I looked it up and it's Wormer.

I was hoping to get some advice on being fat, drunk and stupid. Apparently the OL needs that advice.

Wow! This little ditty coming from you, you b-diddy, is too damn funny. "real men put their head down and grind it out." Holy shit. That is rich. And I mean R-I-C-H as in Rodriguez.

b-diddy, seriously, everyone knows you are a catcher of men. So, please, in the future spare us the Anthony Robbins bullshit. It makes you look more ridiculous than usual.

Back to Wermers, what a douche.

i dont know wha your talking about the first two paragraphs, but i do recall just a week ago you quoting wermers as another example of a player getting richardized, or whatever you call it.

little life lesson for you bukdow, consider the source next time. if someone is quitting, and they have the low integritty to slam the boss on the way out, then they probably arent quality individuals.

its not the guys who leave and talk about how rodriguez is a meanie (this kid, borens), its the guys who keep their mouth shut that worry me.

Starting to hear this is a smear campaign and Rittenberg is backing away. Looks like the blue and yellow douchebags are trying to cover up piles of hillbilly shit. Stay tuned.

Wow! No source? Quite surprising, considering your usual presentation of information here!

One more "black eye" from a kid transferring and UM has to slander him in order to survive? Seems like something straight from one of the MSU "knowledgable posters" on Spartan tailgate.

If Rittenburg is "backing away" it is because the release of this info violates Wermers' personal rights in some way and he'd have to go into that area of revealing his source.

You are nothing but a turd, bukdow.:record:

Thats part of it. UM may very well be in some hot water over this. Not only has UM broken the law, but it is obviously a very juvenile attempt to discredit the kid. This behavior is certainly not beneath them (see Ed Martin).
