View Full Version : Michigan's Tate Forcier
Baker 07-14-2009, 06:20 PM Found these pics to be funny. All teasing aside, how many wins can U of M expect with a QB smaller than their head coach? Call me biased, but this looks like McGuffie II in the BT.

JickBoy34 07-14-2009, 07:27 PM Thanks Baker...
b-diddy 07-14-2009, 07:35 PM no offense baker, but you may need to look in the mirror and do some self evaluating.
JickBoy34 07-14-2009, 07:36 PM Yeah Baker
Jmich24 07-14-2009, 08:05 PM Did Ski really move to Muskegen? New teaching or coaching job?
MoTown 07-14-2009, 08:25 PM Damnit, Baker.
Timone 07-14-2009, 08:31 PM I like the chick on the right way better than the one on the left.
JickBoy34 07-14-2009, 09:03 PM Jmich, who's Ski? That guy is BAKER
Wilfredo Ledezma 07-15-2009, 10:44 AM Pat White- 6'0'', 190 lbs.
bukdow 07-15-2009, 11:59 AM Wow. That kid looks like a little dickhead you would just want to punch in the face. He is going to get crushed in the Big Ten. Go RR! You are destroying UM football.
Also, UM lost another OL. Not a starter or anything, but I thought this quote was a bit telling: "I really didn't get along with the new coaches," Wermers said. "They were bringing in a lot of different kids that were not my kind of crowd. Coach Carr's staff was a whole different ballgame. It was like a family. But when Rodriguez came in it was a whole different feeling. It was more of a business.
"I figured I'd get out while I could."
I have heard insiders quote some high school coaches that have dealings (recruits, camps, etc.) with UM and they expressed a concearn about a "thug element" being introduced since RR took over.
It is pretty amazing that UM could have made such a huge blunder with RR. No school, or fanbase, deserves it more.
b-diddy 07-15-2009, 12:20 PM yea, "they" really deserve it... nice generalizing bucky, really a sign of an astute mind. hopefully those degrees came with a reciept. im not sure you got your money's worth.
I like the chick on the right way better than the one on the left.
No doubt the most :cogent: post in this thread.
Moodini31 07-15-2009, 12:36 PM Who is Baker?
Timone 07-15-2009, 01:27 PM Wow. That kid looks like a little dickhead you would just want to punch in the face.
Why do I get the feeling you now go to sleep and wake up thinking about those pictures?
MoTown 07-15-2009, 02:22 PM MSU fans are lucky. All their athletes are such studs and stand up citizens that they never have taken a bad picture in their life or done anything even slightly embarrassing. That's why these types of pictures of Spartan players never surface on Spartan Tailgate.
Darth Thanatos 07-15-2009, 02:58 PM Holy fucking short he's short.
I'm not too sure whether opposing defenders would want to sack him or change his diaper.
Hat sizes are there for a reason.
Baker 07-15-2009, 05:40 PM Thanks Baker...
You really seem hung up on the name change. You've posted about it like a half a dozen times and threw it out randomly in one thread with no reply. It's kinda funny. Half the people here have changed names, but you sure are hung up on DrBaker11.
Diddy, I'm nowhere near a speciman...but when I self evaluate in the mirror I can't help noticing that I weigh about 30 pounds more than Taint, I'm 3 inches taller than him, and I could bench press Taint and McKnocked Out together. That isn't a tribute to my strength or lack of, but says something that BT size in AA.
Baker 07-15-2009, 05:43 PM But I'm sure the chocolate milk will get that boy 4 inches and 40 pounds like that. Bank and wait on it.
Wizzle 07-15-2009, 06:15 PM stay classy San Diego
Jethro34 07-15-2009, 07:37 PM Hahahahaha! He's so short! Hey look everyone, that guy is short and kinda skinny! He has reddish hair and hangs out with short girls! That's so funny!
Seriously, doesn't that sound like someone, even though their team was picked to be better for the first time in decades, is really desperate for something to do?
How about getting a hobby? This forum is ridiculous. I've actually jumped to the NBA forum because while there are idiots there too, the ratio is much better. Please, for the sake of my sanity, bukdow and Zip stay put right here. One infected forum is bad enough. Frankly, I don't think you could survive the thrashing you would get in the NBA forum if you took your weak act there. You aren't the only people dragging this forum down, but I remember life without you and it was outstanding.

You post 5-6 times about my name change yet I'm a douche. Pretty sure I didn't initiate. I can't believe you still love to deal it out but get mad when you get some back. BTW, changed all that stuff for a reason, long story, but there was a reason. Wasn't trying to fool here.
Baker 07-16-2009, 06:06 PM BTW, as always it's friendly internet razzing Jickboy...but you know if you dish it then its coming back to ya
JickBoy34 07-17-2009, 06:24 AM What exactly did I dish, but not take?

Desperate for something to do? Hope u are referring to the person who posted the pics in the original thread. Just finished 14 games in 3 days along with my Master's classes so you couldn't be referring to my schedule.
Jethro34 07-17-2009, 12:00 PM Sure, the person who posted them on ST really had time on his hands, but what were you hoping to accomplish posting it here?
You complain, as do I, about what this forum has turned into. Posting that shit only continues the trend. So I'm not saying YOU weren't busy, but I think it's safe to imply you were fishing for something and had enough time NOW to eat up the comments you were hoping for.

Honestly, I was on Spartantailgate and somebody posted those. I looked at them and the first thing that I said to myself was holy shit that kid is small. I'd heard from Mike that he looked really small in person but had no clue it was this small. So instantly I began wondering if this kid could really play in the BT, especially having to run the ball. So I posted them. I was looking for predictions for Michigan and the kid in my original post.

Whatever. The kid is a fucking little douchebag who is going to get drilled in the Big Ten. It is important for the WMWs around here to realize their super-savior freshman QB is a cocky shrimp that will last half a season.
Jethro34 07-17-2009, 05:45 PM Honestly, I was on Spartantailgate and somebody posted those. I looked at them and the first thing that I said to myself was holy shit that kid is small. It seemed worded more like a rhetorical question.
Whatever. So, you're looking for predictions? You probably don't want to hear that he's bigger than Pat White was at the same point? I know, Pat White didn't play in the Big Ten, Pat White had injuries, and Tate Forcier is no Pat White. I get all that. Nonetheless, their the same height White was coming out of HS and Tate's got him by 3 pounds.
Maybe I should look at QB's who did play in the Big Ten. Antwaan Randle El is 5'10" and 190 right now, not sure what he was 10 years ago. Staying at Indiana, Kellen Lewis is about the same size as Tate. Tate's not as fast as Lewis, but probably smarter and more accurate. Lewis lead the Hoosiers to 7 wins in 2007 with less talent around him than Forcier should have, so I think it's obvious the in the current Big Ten a QB of that size can have success and make it. However, Indiana was 1-7 in the Big Ten last year. Do I blame that on Lewis' size? I'm sure his size hurt him at times. I won't be blind and discount that. Indiana gave up 34 or more points in all 7 losses. I won't discount that either. UM's defense certainly looks like it could have similar results, so yeah there's cause for concern but I've got a lot of places to look before I focus on how small a QB is.
Moodini31 07-18-2009, 12:41 PM Sure, the kid is by no means big, but he must have some talent to be named "the most accurate QB in the country" by rivals.com for the class of 2009 and has offers from 34 D-1 schools, second most of any QB in the country. I'm going to value the opinions of those coaches over random Sparties on a message board.
http://qbforce.com/tate/tracker.html -Top QB offers
http://rivals.yahoo.com/video/recruiting-football/AMP-Breaking-Down-the-QBs-31408 -rivals video where they rank him #1 most accurate. (May need a rivals account to view)
Also, I don't really think people are touting Tate as "the savior". He'll definitely be improved over the clowns Michigan had playing QB last year. The guy I'm really excited about is the class of 2010's Devin Gardner.
Baker 07-18-2009, 02:21 PM I have no doubts that the kid can play and throw the ball. I just don't think his body will be able to handle the pounding of the BT. I believe he'll start and he won't play the whole season due to injury. Then next year Gardner will be the starter. The passing game will still struggle under Gardner, but they'll be able to run drastically better.
Jethro34 07-18-2009, 03:13 PM My biggest question is how many QB's will they use anyhow? Not necessarily because of injury, but for different looks? You can't keep D-Rob's speed on the bench, and apparently his arm is supposed to be better than his passing numbers suggest. I hate Sheridan, but if the two freshmen lack any poise he's got the experience to come in for a series or two and give the others a chance to calm down. I would hope another year with the playbook and fall camp will allow him to improve.
Personally, big or little fast or slow injured or healthy, I like a world in which Tate only attempts 20 passes per game anyhow.
Zip Goshboots 07-18-2009, 04:03 PM My oh my how the Sparties love to live the double standard. I LOVE it when Message Board Morality comes out in full force from this gaggle of Hypocrites. Just because Forcier hangs out with real, live white womenz, the Sparties are all aghast at him. Of course they are. They're all either married to or dating Edith Bunker. That is, if they can SCORE some hag when they go down to Karaoke night at Big Luke's Mascara, Halter Tops and Pigs Bar & Grille (the "e" on the end of Grille gives the place an air of classy that will be quickly belied by the smell of hair spray and bacon grease sweat that runs off the frothy fat broads as they belt out such classix as "White Winged Dove" or "Leather and Lace.")
Yeah, Sparties calling a kid a tool because chicks dig him. Funny how these washed up message board maniacs think that being holed up in your basement all day searching for pictures of Tits Forcier makes them better than him because he seems to be enjoying life.

If UM`s QB situation is that fractured, things will get bad fast. Different looks? Bullshit. More like a lack of consistency. And you know RR`s approach (its just business, kid) will have them at eachother`s throats in no time.

Hello Pot, meet Mr. Black Kettle.
Zip Goshboots 07-18-2009, 06:26 PM Jick's got my back.
bukdow: Straight bet: I'll take Dick Rod and the Business over Dantonio and his bible thumping hypocrisy. $100.00 to charity.
Jethro34 07-18-2009, 07:48 PM So Leak and Tebow leading Florida to a title with two QB's who gave different looks was fractured and inconsistent? Well, if that's the case I'll gladly take fractured and inconsistent, along with double-digit wins.
Baker 07-18-2009, 09:36 PM Jethro, supposably D-Rob's delivery is very unorthodox...but still effective for hs and his feet are incredible. No way he isn't main man next year.
You know what Zip, don't take this personal because I don't mean it that way at all...but we've all seen real life pics of you so for you to claim some other posters are dorks is comical. I'm not the flyest guy in the world either, but c'mon lets be honest here bro. You aren't rollin in the Benz with Pacman.
Jethro, in regards to above post...i think the Pat White thing is different because of the league he played in. I will admit i was wrong if I am, but man if I had Tate's frame, I would NOT want Greg Jones hittin me.

The first time that Keith Nicol comes off the bench and runs that option play you better be on here running your mouth.

I'm pretty sure I can't name a QB in the country who wants Greg Jones, or any other big LB for that matter, hitting them. I think the point is to avoid that.
FillyCheezeSteak 07-19-2009, 09:22 AM Tate Forcier is listed at 6' tall and is now over 190 pounds.
Kirk Cousins is listed at 6'3" and 197 pounds.
Andrew Maxwell is listed at 6'3" and 195 pounds.
Wouldn't they in fact be skinnier or "less meaty" seeing as how each is 3 inches taller and roughly the same weight +/- 5 pounds?!?
bukdow 07-19-2009, 12:25 PM The first time that Keith Nicol comes off the bench and runs that option play you better be on here running your mouth.
That will be done in a strategic manner rather than searching for somebody to be effective and/or consistent.

I am 5'10" and weigh 183#. I ride my bike about 300 miles a month and do light workouts (push-ups, pull-ups, work with a 25# dumb-bell) 2-3 times a week. I have seen Cousins on campus and he is by no means huge. However, I think the point is that in RR`s system, Forcier will be putting his head on a platter numerous times a game by design. Sooner or later and probably numerous times, a LB, S or God forbid, a DL or DE is going to tee-off on the kid.
b-diddy 07-19-2009, 12:30 PM i heard during games, rodriguez picks his plays by pulling them out of a hat. thats if he calls a play, usually he just tells the guys to do whatever they want. that play is called "rape, pillage, and major in general studies".

Point 2:
I have to agree with Jethro. You Sparties all say the same thing: "Man, I wouldn't want Greg Jones hitting me"--and yet, you don't seem to understand that not only will it not happen, but really, NO ONE wants to be hit by anybody, even a weak armed mosquito like you, "Baker". Please stick to more of your Investigative Reports and Exclusives. It's what you do best.

From what I hear Tate is 5'10" at best, so it depends on what you believe i guess. And like buk said, Cousins and Maxwell won't be running option reads.

Weak. I actually enjoy riding my $3000 bike (Salsa Moto Rapido, XT grupo, plus Ritchey components). My actual, real life capability probably really threatens somebody who went to SVSU, tries to coat-tail ride the blue and yellow and thinks a golf trip to Kentucky is an uppity event.
Jethro, I feel bad for ya kid. You are no better than one of those EMU students who lives in Ann Arbor.

If we all want to post our bank account summaries, assets, 40 times, bench press max, and a pic of our significant other...fine, otherwise get a grip.
We'd know more about you if you'd answer your "Aks Baker" thread. Why make it if you aren't going to respond to it?

Moodini31 09-18-2009, 04:39 PM Tate named AT&T All-America Player of the Week-
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan freshman quarterback Tate Forcier (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch HS) was named the AT&T All-America Player of the Week, announced during halftime of tonight's Thursday night (Sept. 17) game between Georgia Tech and Miami (Fla.) on ESPN. This award is the only major college football award selected exclusively by the fans.
Forcier dominated week-two voting, receiving more than half the votes. University of Minnesota linebacker Nate Triplett placed second, with Central Michigan University quarterback Dan LeFevour and University of Cincinnati wide receiver Marshwan Gilyard placing third and fourth, respectively. Each of the players was nominated by ESPN based on their outstanding performances last week.
Forcier collected three national Player of the Week awards and two conference awards following his performance in the 38-34 upset victory against No. 18 Notre Dame last Saturday (Sept. 12). He gained 310 yards of total offense against the Irish, completing 23-of-33 passes for 240 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 70 yards and one score. Forcier tossed the game-winning, five-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Greg Mathews (Orlando, Fla./Edgewater HS) with 11 seconds left in the contest.
On Tuesday (Sept. 15), Forcier was given the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback of the Week Award and received Rivals.com National Freshmen of the Week and the Rivals.com Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors. All of those accolades follow his selection as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week by the conference office Sunday evening (Sept. 13).
Forcier leads the 25th-ranked Wolverines against Eastern Michigan at noon this Saturday (Sept. 19) at Michigan Stadium. The game will be broadcast nationally by the Big Ten Network.
