Ben was booed cuz he left on his own. I don't think Sheed will get that treatment.

With Ben, the average fan thought he still had a lot left in the tank, i.e. prime years. That probably was the root of all the hatred for Ben, IMO. Even the average idiot Pistons fan understands 'Sheed doesn't have much left at this point.

Also the fact that we didn't even bother pretending to offer him a contract, whereas with Ben, Joe lowballed him, full well knowing it would probably get turned down.

It's a good fit for Sheed, he needs to be on a team with a leader to push him to play worth a damn. With that said hopefully they fail along with the cavs and Magic.

I can't boo him. He was a big reason for last year's blunder, but he also brought the Pistons a championship. For better or worse, we was the soul of the Pistons in this era.

I won't boo him either. We knew what we were getting when we acquired him. Actually, I think we got more than I thought we would (I didn't think his defense was very good before getting him, but maybe that was a faulty perception of mine).

We won a title. I don't know what fans could have expected differently from him. I guess I was mad he left Horry open, but players make judgement calls all the time and you get burned sometimes. It happens. We'll never know if he was instructed to help off his man, stay on his man, etc.

We forced him out the door anyway, it's not like he chose to take less money in Boston.
