The greatest right handed hitter ever?

Anyone disagree?

I don't think it'll be much longer before he's outed.

i think hes clean...im not one of those people who becomes skeptical everytime someone becomes dominant...

the game is no fun that way

Timone

I'm indifferent to it all at this point. Just sayin' I think he's probably on something, and it won't be much longer before we "officially" find out.

The odds are that he's dirty. Look at every hitter thats been dominant in the last 10 years. I think just about every one has come up dirty.

Vinny

Hell, just look at his arms. Or his head. He already got caught lying about his age, I imagine this one's a done deal.

I used to think that you could judge a player's legitimate numbers based on the absence of strong spikes in numbers, but A-rod has proved me wrong. I suppose one way is to look at guys like Sosa, Bonds, and A-rod who look huge compared to their bodies 5 years earlier.

MoTown

If he somehow is proven not to be a fraud, he will be considered the best hitter of all time.

Wilfredo Ledezma

I don't even care about steriods...

If I had a vote--McGwire, Sosa, Bonds, Clemens, Palmeiro, A-Rod---I'd vote all these guys in the HOF

Because there is nothing to suggest that guys like Yount, Molitor, Puckett, etc. didn't juce as well...so you have to treat it as if all had the chance to juice, so all numbers are skewed, so everybody deserves to be in

Hank Aaron? Mantle? You aren't going back far enough imo, Wil.

Protect the old time records.

You can tell just by looking at him. He's built like ARod.

They have very similar proportions and build though. Pujols is thicker, but they look a lot alike.

Does that mean I'm forgiven for my birthplace?

There are worse places to be born in than Minnesota... like Oregon.

Just kidding, Oregon kicks ass! I still forgive you though, Mo.

Cheating in baseball didn't begin with the steroid era. Just letting you know.

I don't care about roids.

Have you told everyone else that?

And did they punch you in the face?

I'm willing to give everybody the benefit of the doubt until something surfaces...

And even when it does surface, all it does is lessen that person's integrity, it doesn't keep them from being one of the games best players in the record books (last I checked, Bonds still has the most HR's of all time).

WTFchris

Don't see my option there so I went with Motown owns.

My vote for him is benefit of the doubt until I see smoke.

He's hit 32-49 HR's every year since he made the majors. He's missed about 20-30 games every year too (whether rest or injury). He has a .334 batting average (only one season below .329).

Basically he's a consistently great hitter. No power surge all of a sudden. No drop off or breaking down of the body. No drastic body changes. Nothing you'd expect from a guy on/off the juice.

I think he's clean. Remember how good Griffey was. He was clean IMO, he just had a bad run of injuries or he'd be chasing down records.

Timone
07-06-2009, 11:05 AM
Yeah, it's too bad Griff never heard of that thing we call keeping yourself in shape.

I think MoTown Owns is always the right answer, Chris.

So... he's been juicing since he got to the majors. Nothing says you need to start late in your career.

Hasn't the shock worn off?

I just accept it and try to ignore it now.

So you think guys are still juicing despite the testing changes? I have no doubt guys are on other stuff, but I doubt he's ever been juicing.

I guess you are in the guilty just because he's good camp?

I don't really care from a fan standpoint. I think it matters for the HOF, and when comparing records. Otherwise I don't give a shit.

Keep in mind baseball is 4th on my list of the 4 major sports. People who watch regularly might. I would care if I had a son that looked up to the players though.

No test for HGH.

True, but Tiger, Federer, Lebron, Kobe are all dominating in their sport.

Automatically cheating?

Glenn
07-06-2009, 04:34 PM
Not automatically, but the "innocence" of sports is gone. For good.

Either you accept it and move on or you'll be constantly disappointed.

WTFchris
07-06-2009, 04:35 PM
Also, roids, etc don't make you hit for better average. If he was a .280 hitter you may have a point but the guy hits .335-.350. If Inge could hit .350 he'd have 40+ HR's too.

Yes, but everyone is out to make a buck. If someone has a scoop on him it will come out. otherwise I assume he's clean.

Not necessarily true. Most evidence actually suggests otherwise.

Glenn
07-06-2009, 04:39 PM
You'll hit for a better average if you aren't sore. No?

You'll compile more stats if you don't need days off. Right?

Vinny
07-06-2009, 04:47 PM
And improved bat speed.

And lazy grounders become hotshots through the hole.

And at the most basic level, 15 extra homers=15 extra hits which would otherwise probably have been fly-ball outs. That 15 extra hits alone can raise your BA 20-25 points on 600 at bats.

Tahoe

I think you can do almost every physical thing better on roids.

It doesn't have to do with the numbers. Sure that will draw the eye initially, but ultimately it's just how he looks. No homo, but it's the thighs. Those things are tree trunks on him, and I don't see baseball players with legs like that.

MoTown

I have a feeling Nadal is juicing. But that's a different story entirely.

Timone

I've noticed that the third poll option keeps changing between "MoTown owns" and "MoTown doesn't own"

Say, I've got this strange hunch: maybe, just maybe, "I love gay men" wasn't originally a poll option and DrRay doesn't love them after all.

Vinny
07-06-2009, 09:36 PM
^^^^ Now I'm not saying I had anything to do with this, but I did notice that there was a point that the second option was "I love gay men!" and Wil was the only one to have chosen it.
