View Full Version : Bosh or Amar'e? Glenn 06-21-2009, 05:09 PM Which one would you prefer? Kstat 06-21-2009, 05:11 PM Bosh. Better defender, rebounder, passer, and outside shooter. He's also 1 1/2 years younger. Amare is an offensive dynamo in the paint, but you'd have a much easier time building around Bosh, who you don't have to hide defensively and is more willing to get others involved. the final selling point is, Bosh doesn't have re-construsted knees that may or may not have a shortened shelf life. Hermy 06-21-2009, 05:15 PM Microfracture. Bosh. Glenn 06-21-2009, 05:16 PM Bosh: Turned 25 in March Amar'e: Turns 27 this November Bosh career avgs.: 19.6 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.2 bpg, 37.1 mpg Amar'e career avgs.: 21.1 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.4 bpg, 34.2 mpg And Amar'e has the injury history, of course. Kstat 06-21-2009, 05:17 PM That's not to say i wouldn't take Amare in a heartbeat. He'd just be my 2nd choice. Glenn 06-21-2009, 05:21 PM All that, and Bosh has a sense of humor. Can you build a team around either of these guys, or are they both "#2s"? Kstat 06-21-2009, 05:24 PM They're both more #1-B types. They aren't really kobe or shaq-type superstars, but they aren't support players either. I think the best comparison would be Dwight Howard, in terms of importance. They can be your best player, providing you have enough depth behind them. For instance, team Bosh with Stuckey, Ben Gordon and a Boozer or Millsapp, and I think you have the makings of a very good team. micknugget 06-21-2009, 05:29 PM I say Bosh not just because he's younger but because I know that he would like to be a Piston. Timone 06-21-2009, 07:00 PM Bosh, as long as he leaves RuPaul in Toronto. [/Shaqness] Higherwarrior 06-21-2009, 07:41 PM did he change his name to amar'e? seriously...? Zekyl 06-21-2009, 10:03 PM I think this would be a better question if we included what it would take to get them. It would take more to pry away Bosh than Amare, and that could change some opinions. Kstat 06-21-2009, 10:38 PM I think Amare would be cheaper, personally... Uncle Mxy 06-21-2009, 11:07 PM BOSH Tahoe 06-21-2009, 11:31 PM I wonder what these guys 1st names are? MoTown 06-22-2009, 07:21 AM The Pistons aren't getting either, unfortunately. Pharaoh 06-22-2009, 08:21 AM Bosh and it's not even close. Amare with his knee. Amare with his whining in the press Amare with his bullshit man crush on Nash Amare with his love of his jumper Amare with his weak ass D Amare with his bullshit Fuck that guy. Bosh has played for some shitty fucking Raptor teams and has never whined aout shit, never demanded a trade, never had weak ass D, never wanted to fuck a team mate. Bosh is the Man and we should be willing to trade Stuckey, Prince and whatever else it takes just to fucking have the pleasure of signing him to the maximum extension his MVP calibre play deserves. You build around a guy like Bosh - the dude is a franchise fucking player. Amare? He needs to be the 2nd best player on your team otherwise his weak mind and body couldn't handle the pressure Glenn 06-22-2009, 08:25 AM I think most of that is fair, but Bosh loves his jumper just as much as Amar'e loves his, actually more, I think. Pharaoh 06-22-2009, 08:47 AM It's true that Bosh loves to shoot jumpers just as much, but don't you think part of that is because of who he plays with and the style they play? Bosh doesn't have Shaq, Hill and Nash setting up wide open lanes to the hoop. He's playing with some fucking scrubs. IIRC some people were crapping on David Lee because of the style of play New York employ - it makes their stats useless and it's hard to judge what those players could do in a normal situation. What about Amare? Dude has been playing with a bunch of fucking All-Stars since he was drafted in a run and gun and run some more system. I will never believe Amare is better than Bosh - NEVER! Glenn 06-22-2009, 08:48 AM Good point on Amar'e's stats, I was thinking the same yesterday. Pharaoh 06-22-2009, 08:59 AM So why defend Amare's love of the J? Yeah Bosh shoots a lot of 'em too, but he's in an entirely different situation. When the best PG you ever played with is (probably) Jose Calderon or TJ Ford or some other wannabe then FUCK! Amare has had Nash spoon feed his dumbass since draft day, almost. And before Nash it was Marbury after his "Ball Hog/Team Mates Suck" Tour of New Jersey. Marbury is a fuckhead but when he was in Phoenix he actually wasn't too bad. They freaked the shit out of the Spurs in the playoffs one year and Amare was right there to handle every gift Marbury and Marion created for him. AND While my dislike for Nash's MVP awards is well known you can't tell me that having one of the best PG's in the NBA pass you the rock every other time down the floor doesn't help a dude. Shit, how many of Amare's shots aren't pure fucking gifts from talented players creating a wide open area for him? He's never had to be the Man, never had to carry the heavy load and he's always had at least 1 other star around when Nash or even Marbury got injured. Playing with Marion in his prime must have been fun. Playing with Shaq and Hill at the tail end of their careers must be fun too. Don't you think that Chris Bosh would fucking love, just absofuckinglutely LOVE to play with guys like that IF only for 1 fucking season? So he could see how it is for a big talented dude to actually have some fucking help. Bosh probably looks at Garnett and prays every single fucking day that in the end his work will pay off and he'll get a ring. Big Swami 06-22-2009, 09:10 AM Amare = prototypical Western Conference big man. I hate that shit. I don't care how much he can score if he's soft. Glenn 06-22-2009, 09:16 AM So why defend Amare's love of the J? To be fair. If you are gonna knock Amar'e because he is a big that shoots jumpers, then you best be knocking Bosh for the same, IMO. Pharaoh 06-22-2009, 09:27 AM Dude, you play the devil's advocate too much IMO Glenn 06-22-2009, 09:30 AM I agree with... kind of gets boring after a while. Pharaoh 06-22-2009, 09:39 AM Not if you agree. If someone actually disagrees then let them state their case. It's not up to you or Fool or MoTown to play Devil's Advocate IMO. If the people want Amare over Bosh then let's read it. Why would any sane person choose Amare over Bosh? Come on - let it rip. Glenn 06-22-2009, 09:40 AM Looks like you're talking to your boy Higherwarrior on this one. Pharaoh 06-22-2009, 09:44 AM OK, Giddeon (long memory, man) Why do you want Amare? Pharaoh 06-22-2009, 09:46 AM BTW, why don't I get credit for all these Scout.com dudes we have? HW, Cross, Tahoe, Atticus - they're all from Scout. Fuck you bastards short changing me on credit. I demand 250 Alpacas for each of 'em. I don't know how to bet my Alpacas anyway Glenn 06-22-2009, 09:48 AM Not if you agree. If someone actually disagrees then let them state their case. It's not up to you or Fool or MoTown to play Devil's Advocate IMO. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's up to me to do pretty much whatever the fuck I want to, and the same goes for you. WTFchris 06-22-2009, 10:17 AM Not if you agree. If someone actually disagrees then let them state their case. It's not up to you or Fool or MoTown to play Devil's Advocate IMO. If the people want Amare over Bosh then let's read it. Why would any sane person choose Amare over Bosh? Come on - let it rip. Only reason I could see would be price (we have no idea what assets will be wanted for either). Say Toronto wanted Tay and Stuckey and the Suns wanted RIP and Max. That would be the only way I see Amare being the choice. Darth Thanatos 06-22-2009, 02:37 PM Amare = prototypical Western Conference big man. I hate that shit. I don't care how much he can score if he's soft. And yet, they're the ones winning championships. WTFchris 06-22-2009, 02:39 PM Amare = prototypical Western Conference big man. I hate that shit. I don't care how much he can score if he's soft. Softer than Gasol? Is TD any less soft than Amare? He plays defense, but I Amare goes to the rim harder than TD. MoTown 06-22-2009, 02:58 PM Gl'enn actually threatens me via PM every day if I don't play devil's advocate in certain threads. I'd report it to the Syndicate, but HE IS THE SYNDICATE. Scary times for me, indeed. Fool 06-22-2009, 03:01 PM BTW, why don't I get credit for all these Scout.com dudes we have? HW, Cross, Tahoe, Atticus - they're all from Scout. Fuck you bastards short changing me on credit. I demand 250 Alpacas for each of 'em. I don't know how to bet my Alpacas anyway http://mrchevyceleb.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/vm.jpg Pharaoh 06-23-2009, 03:18 AM I don't get it, Fool. geerussell 06-24-2009, 04:50 PM Amare = prototypical Western Conference big man. I hate that shit. I don't care how much he can score if he's soft. And yet, they're the ones winning championships. A soft(ish) jump shooting big is fine, as long he's at power forward with a tougher, more physical player at center. Fool 06-24-2009, 04:56 PM I don't get it, Fool. You are acting like that guy. Pharaoh 06-25-2009, 06:43 AM How so? I still don't get it. Fool 06-25-2009, 12:14 PM Demanding credit for shit WAY in the past and half of which is terrible. WTFchris 06-25-2009, 12:52 PM I was lost too P. Pharaoh 06-26-2009, 06:14 AM Demanding credit for shit WAY in the past and half of which is terrible. Um, demanded credit at the time and got none. Thought it was a good time to bring it up again and I made a joke of getting some Alpacas, which I don't even know how to bet. As for half of it being terrible please tell me which posters from Scout are terrible? IMO they're all passionate about the team. That's all that matters to me. |
