View Full Version : Which bigs would you move Rip for?
Glenn 06-19-2009, 03:42 PM Try to be somewhat realistic (no Howard).
Don't worry too much about salaries, I'm not really looking at 1 for 1 deals "Rip straight up for XXX", I'm talking about a deal that has Rip as the outgoing centerpiece and the acquired big as the incoming centerpiece.

Glenn 06-19-2009, 03:46 PM ur mom.
He hasn't faced prime time competition really, I'd rather stay away from unproven dudes from the Congo.
She's a quality big my friend.
Glenn 06-19-2009, 03:54 PM Okay, that she is.
Anyhoo, anybody know who was #2 in the NBA in RPG this year without looking?
Pretty surprising.
jturbo 06-19-2009, 04:05 PM TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!!T ROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!!
Glenn 06-19-2009, 04:06 PM You looked.
Also
TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!!T ROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!! TROY MURPHY!!
jturbo 06-19-2009, 04:11 PM True. Is he a fa, can he play center? SHOULD WE SIGN HIM?!?!??!! or ?
Oh yeah, T Roy is what I CALL HIM, so back off Glenn.
Timone 06-19-2009, 04:20 PM Joel Przybilla, Biedrins
Glenn 06-19-2009, 04:26 PM True. Is he a fa, can he play center? SHOULD WE SIGN HIM?!?!??!! or ?
Well, he can rebound AND shoot 3's, so I guess we shouldn't say that he's definitely not on Joe's watch list.
Try to be somewhat realistic (no Howard).
You killed my post before I even opened the thread.
1995 Shaq... or is that also not considered "somewhat realistic"?
Glenn 06-19-2009, 04:42 PM Sorry dude.
I was thinking more like Boozer, Okafor, Kaman, Camby, etc.
jturbo 06-19-2009, 05:05 PM Of course I'd take Bosh or Amare. If Utah would do Boozer for Rip, I'd take it. I would like that better than Booze just signing as a FA. Sign Gordon and Birdman.
Stuck
BG
Tay
Booze
Birdman
Or something like that.
Joe Asberry 06-19-2009, 05:10 PM i've not seen one good RIP trade proposal thus far...who needs an allstar SG with 4 years left on his deal and would give up a quality bigman?
the only possibilities i see are
Charlotte: Okafor+Radman for RIP+Amir, they shed salary
Indy: Murphy: but Indy losing money, i am not sure they would take RIP because of his contact...
Clippers: Kaman but only if a 3rd team is involed, they dont need RIP
Nawlins: Chandler aint happening, they cant take on RIPs contract
Philly: Dalembert is a mercanery, too lazy, too dumb ...pass
Portland: maybe for Przy+ Outlaw, but they've got roy at SG
Utah: RIP for Boozer ain't happening, Utah cant afford Boozer, Memo and Millsap, so why take on RIPs contract instead of paying Boozer?
Wash: Haywood+ E.Thomas+ 5th pick ;) ?
no chance at Bosh, Amare, Bogut btw...
Cross 06-20-2009, 12:57 AM i think it was z who said this but i'd do a amir/rip for biedrins/shitty contract or pick.
but that's only if we got a capable big to score downlow
Pharaoh 06-20-2009, 06:37 AM Let me get this straight:
People are against signing Ben Gordon and trading Rip for a quality big
But
People are for trading Rip to GSW for Biedrins and a shitty contract?
Cross 06-20-2009, 07:09 AM I was never against the BG signing, just against the BOOZER one.
and by a shitty contract, i guess like Kelenna Azuibuike because the only other shit contact they have is cmag, and no one is going to take that shit.
Pharaoh 06-20-2009, 07:28 AM A lot of other people don't want Gordon signed and Rip dealt, Cross.
But back on topic:
How about Elton Brand IF Arnie checks him out and gives the all clear?
Rip goes home and we get a 20/10 big man.
AGAIN, I would ONLY do it IF Arnie gave the all clear. Arnie "fixed" Dice. He might be able to do the same for Brand...
BIG BEN'S FRO 06-20-2009, 02:24 PM P,
If Arnie was able to fix Brand such that he would be a true 20/10 man for us, I am pretty sure we could get him for an expiring or Maxiell, since he is dead weight if he doesn't play for them.
Higherwarrior 06-20-2009, 11:02 PM kaman. and a bunch of other guys too of course. but he's one that i think we might realistically have a shot at in a deal like that.
Cross 06-22-2009, 12:33 AM If Andrew Bynum were to be available, i'd consider a rip/amir/15 for bynum/29.
Glenn 07-05-2009, 11:58 AM Rip for Boozer saves Utah close to a million this year, but they probably need to save more than that to get Millsap re-signed and get under the tax line, so would they be willing to throw in one of their young centers? (Koufos or Fesenko)
Or maybe we expand the deal to include Max and include another contract from Utah that would save them more?
Chip103 07-06-2009, 12:15 AM Birdman. We need a big man who can provide us defense down low. Chris Anderson is your man for that. He is also a sleeper on offense. Of course, we would have to trade rip + ___ for birdman + ____.
