Gm 1: Ian Snell Vs. Rick Porcello
Gm 2: Zach Duke Vs. Armando Galarraga
Gm 3: Ross Ohlendorf Vs. Dontrelle Willis
shit to keep an eye on
* Jack Wilson- since he's been traded to the Tigers (http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf/2008/12/detroit_tigers_acquire_ss_jack.html) about 70 times within the last 3 years, it will be enjoyable to actually see the guy play
* Dontrelle Willis will get to hit on Sunday, he has 8 career HR's...if he has a strong few at bats and pitches like shit, it could invoke the local media to suggest a Rick Ankiel-like alternative and perhap save the D-Train's career
D-Train's career hitting stats- .234 AVG, (82 for 351), .280 OBP, 8 HR, 35 RBI, 21 walks to 64 K's, 5 triples, 29 sacrifice hits
* Craig Monroe is on the Pirates, he's hitting .222, 3 HR, 15 RBI but has just 72 AB's this year and with the Pirates bringing up Andrew McCutchen after the Nate McLouth trade, its likely C-Mo will be DFA'ed at some point in the coming weeks as the Pirates look to play the young guys
* Armando Galarraga has pitched well his last couple starts, but hasn't been given much run support to help him get some more wins...he's probabl no longer at risk to lose his rotation spot.
* Zach Miner is probably our 5th best starting pitcher, but since he makes pennies, our front office can't endure the embarassment of having three $10 mill+ relievers
* Andy LaRoche is finally starting to become a decent player
* There are some Pittsburgh relievers the Tigs could be interested in come July should we be in the market for some late inning help---John Grabow, Tyler Yates, and Matt Capps come to mind.
* Rick Porcello gets to hit, and I will go out on a limb and say he will have more productive at bats than Dane Sardinha
* No DH, so Marcus Thames will probably be full time LF, especially since Clete Thomas was optioned to AAA
