View Full Version : Tay/Max for AK47?

Anybody like that angle?

We get a fresh face at the 3 and get rid of Max's contract.

They shed some payroll and get some insurance for Boozer/Millsap leaving (Max).

It might not be enough for the Pistons (AK47 would tie up a lot of money the next two years) so I was trying to see if the Jazz had any young (cheap) talent that we might want to add to the deal to help them shed a little more payroll, maybe CJ Miles?

Joe liked him a while back, too.

Maybe AK makes LeBron and Pierce work a little harder?

Or maybe they just break him in half.

AK makes me sad now when I see him. Not sure he's any better than Tay.

He just makes so much damn money. If he came at 3-4 million less per season I'd love the idea. Maybe he moves to a new environment and regains his old form. He could play the 3 and the 4 for us.

I thought his best play in the last couple years when was he played PF. I don't think he has the foot speed to stay with Lebron or PP, and he's just as thin as Tay too. I don't see that being any better than what we have now.

he's like Odom or Josh Smith, definitly a PF in a SF body, he would be great if you got a huge center like Howard,Bynum at Center, if you put AK47 close to the basket he's a really good help defender...

Kaman
AK47
Butler
RIP
Stuckey

i'd like that

That would be a very expensive lineup....

AK47 is a superlative defender at SF, and still doesn't defend against LeBron very well if the last 3 years of 35 ppg and 50% shooting from LeBron against Utah is any indication.

I'd be inclined to do the trade, if we had a decent coach.

Everyone needs to get off this whole "can't guard Bron" thing. No one can guard him because no one's allowed to guard him. The only way to "guard" Lebron James is to assign him to someone that everyone likes even more.

The only thing to do in this situation is acquire Capt. Sullenberger, or maybe that dude who got kidnapped by the pirates.

You guard him before he gets the ball. You make the other players shy away from passing it to him. That means he has to bring the ball up the court but even then, as soon as he passes you play him tight to keep the ball away from him.

What's Ruben Patterson up to?

edit- n/m

After setting career highs in points and assists, on August 29, 2007, he signed a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. [2] Patterson was waived by the Clippers on December 13, 2007.[3] He since has joined the Lebanese club 'Champville'.

I agree with Fool - that's how you slow/stop the best scorers in the game.

Lebron and Kobe get so many touches that if you allow them to get those touches you're gonna pay one way or another.

If you limit their touches, or make it difficult for them to even catch the ball in a decent position you have done half the job.

It's just a pity that ball denial isn't what it used to.

Anybody want to revisit this one?

Um, no.

It doesn't solve our biggest need - which is C.

If we got Memo and something for Tay and Maxiell then I might be inclined.

And Memo isn't the kind of C I want with this group - but right now we need someone, anyone to man the middle.

I'll fly to Perth and see if Luc Longley wants the job. 3 Championship Rings!!!

Better yet do a trade with Toronto and get Nathan Jawaii. Then throw him out there and let him play some damn minutes - maybe he'll develop. I saw him destroy people here in Ozziland.

Granted our league isn't anywhere near the best in the world - but he was looking like a young Shaq out there some games.

Some might say that our biggest need is defense, rebounding and shot blocking, no matter what position it comes from.

I agree those are our weaknesses but it could be debated that it doesn't matter where it comes.

You can't play Powder and AK47 together... can you?

I guess you could against everyone except Orlando and Cleveland.

Ming is out Duncan v AK would be nice to see, Bynum v AK would be interesting.

OK, I agree - let's get AK47 and play him at C.
