Did you ever think of dropping it to a 1 month competition? Just wondering.

Hmmm...maybe we can try that one month at a time thing.

The only problems I can think of right now is that (1) Matt is the only one that knows how to reset to 500, and he's not around very much and (2) It would increase the number of things like playoff series that we can't include because they wrap from one month into another.

When we do 2 mos. at a time, if a playoff series starts in March, for example, and runs into April, we can post a "series" bet. But if we were only doing 1 mo. at a time, the events would all have to be self contained within that month. We run into this now with the 2 mo. format, but only half as much. Like we can't post the Wings/Ducks series now because it won't be over by the time the contest period ends, if you follow.

I didnt' think of that. That is a problem.

I don't see an easy way around that.

Do the series wagers get as much action as the individual games?

About the same, I suppose.

I guess the bottom line is, would more people be interested if it was a month at a time or would it not make a difference?

Only about 15 of us are actively doing this right now even after we reset, AFAICT, so if doing 1 mo. at a time increased interest, maybe we should try that.

I think lots of peeps try to budget their Pacs, but its hard. I think a lot of peeps are out of it by the first week. Then its 7 weeks in bankruptcy court.

There might not be more players, but I think that wagers drop off dramatically in the 2nd month, only cuz we are out of pacs.

Last competition...the one I won, you might remember it, I took 3 weeks off. It seemed a lil too long. But thats just me.

I like it how it is now. If you cut it too short, then you are forced to do pretty small wagers. when people build up 1500-2000 alpacas you see people going all in a lot more to catch up. it also forces people to be a little more active or you fall behind. if you make it a month, you could probably do nothing until the last few days and still be close enough to catch people. I think you'd see even more people sitting on 500 and letting people lose theirs.

^ It 'might' change the way peeps wager, but I don't see how it would be for the worse.

I was thinking Weekly would be an ALL OUT FREE FOR ALL.

It might be cool to change it up and see if something would happen to work well. Not that it isn't now.

Let's try a 1 month test after the new 6 week test.

There's no longer a premium on these contests since the prize incentive was removed.
