per ESPN, Pistons have apparently sent out a blanket email to cavs season ticket holders offering playoff tickets at discount prices.

We have officially hit rock bottom.

Better be like 5 times the cost for them.

Yes we were all clamoring for Tom Wilson to sell out Piston fans.

I'd love to sell Cavs fans tickets to Saturday's playoff game...
Yes, I know there's no game on Saturday. That's the point.

Yes we were all clamoring for Tom Wilson to sell out Piston fans.

Not what I meant, but whatever.

The thought of Wilson initiating contact with the Cavs front office and asking for their email database is seriously making me sick.

It just pours salt in the wound. We can't sell out the arena for a playoff game cuz we're done, so you ask the enemy to help out.

Fuck you Wilson, the team sucks, take your lumps, lose money, too fucking bad. Deal with it. Don't go to the Cavs, you pink panty wearing bitch.

You mean the trade? I did, but I didn't ask for Curry. I didn't ask for the rooks to do nothing this year.

gusman
04-24-2009, 11:47 PM
ticket prices are what they are in the playoffs which means that they are over priced. Who in their right mind is going to pay the prices they are asking to see this garbage team?

UxKa
04-24-2009, 11:52 PM
TV said there were $11 tickets, before the email was sent to Cavs season ticket holders.

Sorry but if I lived within 90 minutes, I'd have bought some seats. Regardless of expectations, $11... buy that shit up. That really shows how sad the fan support is. Yeah it sucks this year, but damn.

Glenn
04-25-2009, 02:24 AM
It would have been nice to see some of the unsold tickets donated to a LOCAL charity. I know that's idealistic, but it would have been a much better PR move than what they did.

Glenn
04-25-2009, 02:45 AM
The Pistons gave the Cavs permission to e-mail their season-ticket holders with a phone number to call if they wanted tickets to Game 3 or 4, as the team insisted it has done since 1984 with visiting teams during the playoffs. Pistons spokesman Matt Dobek said 140 tickets were sold to Cleveland fans, who responded to the e-mail.

How many sell outs did the team have when it was winning?

The minute we don't win the Central fans stay away?

Fuck you bandwagon motherfuckers.

Kstat
04-25-2009, 08:22 AM
all "since 1984" means is that they advertised in 2000 and 1984 ,the only other two times they had difficulty with playoff games. They're trying to make it sound like its common practice when it isnt.

Rebuilding teams would love to have $18,000,000 in cap space with Tayshaun Prince, Richard Hamilton and Rodney Stuckey on the books.

Fuck you cheap ass punks that won't go see our team get slaughtered. You are a piece of shit fan and should be forced to witness our destruction over and over again until your eyes bleed.

You bastards are so spoiled it makes me sick. Fuck you. Try living in a country with no free NBA games on TV. Try living in a city where their ONLY national sporting team (which happens to be the basketball team) was/is on the verge of collapse despite finishing in the top 4 for the last 2 years.

Lazy, punk ass bandwagon fans need to be knocked the fuck out. Go cheer for the Cavs you cunts. Stay the fuck away my team - we don't need your bullshit "fandom" here.

Hey, I watched this franchise from Bing and Lanier and then we were shit and I still watched them, and I watched them when we were winning with Zeke and I'll watch them through all this shit. I even watched during the Teal era. You should feel lucky, and you were, not to have to witness that fucking shit.

P, I love you man, but you're way off on this. I've been a Pistons fan my whole life. I've supported them during the teal era, bought season tickets when they have zero talent and cheered them on when they've stuggled to win 20 games in a season.

This season is different. The reason i've loved the Pistons in the past is because they may not have the most talent in the league, but they are the hardest working. The 2004 Pistons was the pinnacle of that: they won the NBA Championship because of heart. This year, these fuckers that call themselves Detroit Pistons are stealing their paychecks and not giving a shit. They have a coach who's got his thumb is his asshole and would struggle making a High School team win games. They moved the face of the franchise for an over-the-hill selfish player. I do not respect anyone on the Pistons outside of Dice, and Rip and Tay to a much lesser extent.

I have said if the Pistons wanted to get better, Chauncey needed to go. But this was not the way to go about it. I have no confidence that any good free agent will come to Detroit.

Why should I support a team that gave up after the second game of the season? Why should I support them next year if they keep the same coach that cause the most painful season I can remember? If they are saving money to get Chris Bosh, does that mean they're throwing away next season as well?

On the positive side, Joe Dumars seems to be at his best when he is building a team. He did an amazing job when he took over in 2000 building a team with players that other teams didn't want or gave up on. He got a bunch of players that were low risk, high reward. He got players with a chip on their shoulder. If he can do that again this offseason and create the same magic he has before, I'll be the first in line.

I'll go as far to say I don't even care about wins and losses. If he has a squad that comes out next year and plays their asses off and represents the team well, I will be there every game to support them.

But I will not support this current team. Let the rebuilding begin at about 6:30 pm tonight.

And nobody saw this coming?

How much does a "cheap" Pistons ticket cost? If one's going to spend that kind of money, you'd prefer it be an excellent value. But if the Pistons suck monkey balls, why in the world would anybody pony up the dough?

To see LeBron? OK, that would be Zekyl. That's ONE seat.

How about the other empty cushions? Offer them to RealCavsFans? Apparently so, since half the Palace was cheering for the Cavs today. It was almost like a neutral court game. It was weird.

But really. If you're going to rebuild a team, lower the ticket prices and concession prices. This adds value to the ticket. Even if the Pistons lose, you still bought into an Association game on the cheap, and if the opposing team has an All-World player, got to see him do his shit live. TV can't compare to the real thing.

Unless you're in the nosebleeds, then fuck it.

I'm not sure we've bottomed out.

Thank you Mo - you are a true fan.

While everyone bitches about this and that you actually managed to explain exactly what you want to see on the floor...

Which is exactly what I want to see.

My hatred of the Orlando Magic began because they had a hard working team and pissed them all away for Hill and McGrady.

If we could get a team like they had I would be over the fucking moon.

The Orlando Tragic are like the Clippers or Detroit Lions. I don't hate them as much as I pity and laugh at them for their stupid owners. The Rashard deal, the Vasquez pick, etc. are recent evidence that they still haven't found a clue with the new Amway owner (as opposed to DeVos, the old Amway owner).

This year, these fuckers that call themselves Detroit Pistons are stealing their paychecks and not giving a shit. They have a coach who's got his thumb is his asshole and would struggle making a High School team win games.
More to the point, they have a coach whose hiring signaled "we're tanking the season" before it even started, and the AI move ultimately cemented that (much as I would have liked to have thought otherwise -- hell, I thought that AI trade was pretty slick when it went down <kicks self>.

I didn't watch it either. I went to the Rockies game (and watched them put up 9 straight runs on LA) and had fun. I would have chucked my remote at the TV if I had stayed home and watched that BS.

Did you post "At the very beginning stages of rebuilding?"

No.

And my post wasn't aimed at him either.

My post is aimed at all those fans that didn't go and see our team this season or these playoffs simply because they weren't a winning team.

Those people can fuck off.

Mo had his own reasons for not going to see them and I respect his views because I too would rather have a shitty team that works it's ass off than a star studded line up that phones it in.

I'm guessing you feel the same way?

Katrina (Detroit): I heard on Posting Up, the Pistons.com social network, that The Palace sent an e-mail to Cleveland fans to alert them that there were tickets to tonight’s game available. Please tell me that’s not true.

Langlois: Not true, Katrina. It is standard procedure for teams to set aside some tickets for the other team’s season-ticketholders. The Cavs sent an e-mail to their season-ticketholders alerting them to the availability of a limited number of tickets. For games 3 and 4, a total of 140 tickets were purchased by Cavs fans via that avenue. The Red Wings took out a newspaper advertisement letting Columbus fans know tickets were available for their games at Joe Louis Arena, too. Nothing out of the ordinary about any of that. The way it was reported distorted reality.
