Rips season? Your thoughts?

Rip was sent to the bench and did grumble a lil bit, but I would hope a player would grumble a lil bit.

I do think he let the CBill trade get to him a lil bit too much. But he came back to the starting lineup and did a good job.

He extended his range over the last couple 3 seasons. He's comfortable from outside the arc now. Not great but good enough to hurt teams if they don't guard him.

He performed at about his career numbers through this season, and his career numbers make him a solid above-average SG, so I give him a B. Somewhat less games due to injury, somewhat better 3P volume while shooting for decent %, so it's a wash.

He was a bitch and garbage for a while. He played out of his mind for a little stretch as well.

Solid season, all things considered.

Still wish he would shut his yap a little bit more.

No such thing as a docile yap shutting Starting SG. Unrealistic request.

Not voting, but i'm satisfied with his performance overall this year.

My only complaints? Too much whining and too many failed fast breaks. Should start calling him Rip "Fast Break Turnover" Hamilton.

He has to work a long way to be as proficient at the fast break as Lindsey Hunter.

He shot more 3's at the same % as recent years? It seemed liked he improved his %.

I'll go with what you said. In Mxy I trust.

Actually, his 3P % is down relative to last year, but he's taking somewhat more 3P shots and still getting the league average of around 37%. He's much better since he committed to improving his 3P shot a few summers back, which is good.

B+ for Rip.

Solid performance despite losing his long time back court mate, adjusting to AI, coming off the bench, starting again, injuries, and so on.

I have no problem with Rip's performance. For those who want Rip to tone it down: He is what he is because of his emotions.

Dude had a decent season from what I could tell.

He does work hard to improve every off-season, which is something Jerry Stackhouse never fucking did.

Next season I'd like to see him take on more of a leadership role, though - which would mean a lot less whining and more "team building" talk.

He used to love to say "we gotta defend as 5" back in the championship days, but I haven't heard that from him in years.

Rip had a very good year considering what happened. He lost his backcourt mate of 6 years and had to adjust. He had a lot of injuries and lost his starting job to a me-first player. And he should have complained - probably a lot more than he did. He is the leader of this team now, and besides Dice and Bynum, he deserves the highest grade. I would give him a A-/B+.

I want everyone to take notice that GB didn't make any felacious comments in this post.
