It's been a tough season, but how do you grade the year that Tay had?

I'm giving Tay and A. Maybe no one deserves an A on this team this year, but he didn't let all the fucking shit that was going on bother him, imo.

I thought he actually was a lil more agressive going to the hole too.

He still has a lot left in the tank.

He seemed to step up as a leader (at least in the media it seems that way) when we didn't have one.

He played well but didn't have that breakout year that we are all longing for. He had a few too many games where he shot poorly to get an A from me.

Tayshaun's numbers are perfectly average amongst starting SFs. His defense, durability, and ability to step up when given the call, are what give him a B.

I think he had his breakout year his 2nd season(?) The season after Carlisle finally played him against Philly in the playoffs(?). I think thats how it went.

I fell Tay is just being Tay. He's above average to me. His long arms helps his D. He messed with Kobe's head in 04 and that prolly was huge for us.

I like Tay. Good lockerroom guy. He isn't aksing for a billion dollars every other year. An 'A' might be a lil high, but he is solid for me.

Very solid B, almost an A. I would have liked to see a little more from him, both literally and when I check the box scores to see what wasn't on TV here.

I think Tay's breakout season was his 3rd season. Don't forget for two solid months (January and February), Prince was the Pistons best player, averaging about 20 a game.

I was disappointed a little with Prince this year, but I had higher expectations coming from the Olympic team. But no one got screwed more by smallball than Prince.

He is asked to do so much. He has never missed the conference finals. He hasn't missed a game in 6 years. He plays through injuries. He's a leader and a great teammate. Obviously he's no slouch as a player either. Pure winner.

I agree with your points, I just wish there weren't those nights where he almost doesn't show up on the stat sheet. I know he does a lot of things that don't show up in the stats, but he is a damn good player and sometimes we need those stats to win a game.

Offensively, it's hard to light up the stat sheet when you're the 3rd or 4th option most trips down the court.

I agree that he has stepped up a bit as a leader, which is good. He's been here for a long time and he likely has the best personality (only Rip and Tay are the options) for the role.

That said his game needs addressing - dude needs to be more selfish offensively and get involved. The only guy he should defer to is Rip - everyone else is a lesser option than Tay.

I can't really complain though - he is rock solid on both ends of the floor.

Tay will always be Tay. I love the guy, but he had a very up and down year for him. I think everybody suffered from the awful coaching.
