Where will they finish in the Central?

How many wins?

Will they make the playoffs?

Are they contenders?

3rd, 83, no, not really.

Whats hard for me to factor in is Leyland. I wish we had a younger, more fired up Mgr.

2nd (if we had a younger mgr, we'd win it all)
92
yes
If their pitching shows up

85 wins might win the central this year.

Tahoe

Yeah well, 92 wins might take 2nd. So there.

Seriously, you are probably right, I went a lil too high there. I can't remember last years final win totals.

Shit, I don't know. Zoom, Bondo and Willis are unknowns again.

I could see them winning the division or being last place. Who knows?

I'm thinking about .500, no playoffs.

3rd in the Central.
81 wins.
No playoffs.
Not contenders - Rodney is the closer.

^ you 3 need to...

Walk to your kitchen
Open cupboard doors
Grab packet of Kool-Aid
Mix with cool refreshing water
Drink it!

MoTown

I could do that, but just to reiterate, Tahoe: Fernando Rodney is our closer.

Also my predictions would change if Dusty Ryan was on the opening day roster.

^ or pre sweetened

They just need some Tiger kool-aid

OUCH! I must have missed that part while drinking some KA.

They're serving up some serious Tigers Kool Aid on baseball tonight right now.

(Ok, I lied, they're on to Cleveland now but they were like 2 minutes ago....)

Supposedly Zumaya's almost ready, and Leyland says he "Really likes this team."

Tahoe
04-01-2009, 03:42 PM
lol, like Leyland is going to say, Boy we're gonna suck this year.

Another round of kool-aid for the BBT crew

Agreed....in fairness though, they said something like "I saw Jimmy Leyland the other day, and he said he really likes this team and I tell you what, he sure wasn't saying anything like that last year. "

I agree, last year he was all about shooting down any expectations.

WTFchris

In all seriousness, they could win the division. staying healthy enough to do it is the big question mark.

I'm still more interested in who is on the roster come August. If we're in it and missing that last piece, and we don't get anything via trade, are Perry and Porcello (both of whom may be up long before then) called up and refined enough to push the team over the top?
How is this Anderson kid going to work out?
Is Sheff going to be an amazing case of addition by subtraction?
Will any once successful pitcher be even above-average again?

The answers to all these questions will decide the above questions.

But, I say they beat the Royals. The Indians, Twins and White Sox are all about as interesting as the Tigers in terms of story lines and unknown commodities. So I'll say:
3rd
87 wins
in the playoffs
Lose the first series in 5 games

Um, yerah, just read the thread about Dombrowski saying those two were heading north....so I'm not sure how much of my post lives up to my Super Cogent label.

Heh, also, you said they'd make the playoffs while coming in third.....that would be pretty CRAZY.

85-77, 2nd place in the Central and no playoffs.

Minnesota wins the division (despite adding next to nobody in free agency).

Cleveland finishes 3rd, Chicago 4th, and Kansas City 5th.

Kansas City's rotation is pretty sweet. I wouldn't be surprised if they finished 2nd or 3rd in the division.

I noticed that too, but he already called himself out about Perry and Porcello... so I'll cut him a little slack.

Other than Meche & Greinke, they really don't have that great of a rotation.

Brian Bannister couldn't even make the team.

Horacio Ramirez & Sidney Ponson are there 4th & 5th starters.

I do like KC's lineup though

C- Olivo
1B- Jacobs
2B- Callaspo
SS- Aviles
3B- Gordon
OF- DeJesus
OF- Crisp
OF- Guillen
DH- Butler

^^^that's not bad

Also Joe Mauer may be out for the month of April (he was just put on the DL today and hadn't played all spring).

So, teams like the Tigs & Tribe will have a chance to get a head start before the Twinkies get their horse back.

Scott Baker was placed on the DL, too.

4 way tie at 81-81?

4 way tie at 81-81?

That would be sweet. Especially if the tie breakers resulted in extra games played to determine the winner.

Tahoe
04-03-2009, 02:48 PM
I'm hoping that the Tigs can get some 'consistent' scoring this year. Enough with scoring 22 runs then being shut out for 2 games. I'd rather have 7 runs for three straight games.

4 way tie at 81-81?

That's how I figured they could be 3rd but make the playoffs
