View Full Version : "a-hole of the game" vs. Lakers (3/26/09) WINNER: RODNEY STUCKEY
Glenn 03-27-2009, 10:55 AM The nominees:
Aaron Afflalo
32 mins, 2/8 FG, 1 Reb, 0 Ast, 1 TO, 0 Stl, 0 Blk, 4 PF, 6 pts, -4
Rodney Stuckey
27 mins, 2/8 FG, 2 Reb, 3 Ast, 4 TO, 2 Stl, 0 Blk, 3 PF, 5 pts, -31
Tayshaun Prince
33 mins, 3/13 FG, 4 Reb, 1 Ast, 3 TO, 0 Stl, 0 Blk, 2 PF, 7 pts, -37
Zekyl 03-27-2009, 11:00 AM How did Afflalo play 32 minutes and only end up at -4 while the other two played a large number (which would indicate they were on the floor together) and were in the -30's? I'd remove Afflalo from consideration just based on the fact that he must have been playing some solid D, even if he didn't bring it on the offensive end.
Hermy 03-27-2009, 11:03 AM Yup. I gotta go Tay here, Kobe ate him up in their matchups.
Glenn 03-27-2009, 11:03 AM Afflalo was the beneficiary of playing a lot with Valter (+) and Bynum (+) while Stuckey and Tay were on the bench.

He tried to guard Kobe a few times, lol, and 0 steals, 0 blocks and 1 rebound usually isn't an indicator of good D being played. At least he tries, though.
Uncle Mxy 03-27-2009, 11:10 AM Stuckey all the way. Sure, Tayshaun gets owned by a superstar, but Stuckey let Derek Fisher get his nutsack in a twist.

Could have been that he was not letting his guy get the ball, keeping him from driving the lane, making hustle plays, and doing other things that don't make the stat line. I didn't see the game so I figured I'd toss the idea out there and get corrected if it was wrong.
Zekyl 03-27-2009, 11:47 AM I aim to please.
Tahoe 03-28-2009, 12:51 AM I agreed with Kstat
Uncle Mxy 04-12-2009, 10:44 AM With AI pussying out, is he our perpetual asshole of the game for the rest of the season? If so, I'm cool with that. Otherwise, I'd be torn about last night. Was it Curry's 4th quarter blizzardry, Sheed' no-show, or Stuckey's inability to abuse TJ Ford that would win the coveted asshole award?
