View Full Version : Spring Football
FillyCheezeSteak 03-25-2009, 03:02 PM Looks like Nick Sheridan broke his leg this morning at practice. Also, David Cone has suffered a hand injury and Ricky Barnum was seen on crutches. Toney Clemons has left the program and has already been granted his relase, but this has been rumored for over a year and really came as a surprise to nobody, but his departure is still going to leave a void behind the starters.
Spring Game is April 11th at Noon at THE BIG HOUSE. They are doing locker room tours between 8 and 10 am and the line to get into the free tour is expected to be between 30,000 and 40,000 people.
Wizzle, Jickyboy and myself will be there for sure. Is anyone else planning on going to the game?
FillyCheezeSteak 03-25-2009, 03:03 PM Glenn, can you hook us up with a WTFDetroit.com Tent so we can advertise at the game...........LOL.
Zip Goshboots 03-25-2009, 03:28 PM OH YEAH BABY! Lemme see the locker room! WOWIE!
"Here's the door guys. Oh! Open it before you try to walk through it! HAHA-you must be one of those "independent study" guys--HAHAHAHA. OK, don't touch anything, you don't know where this sutff has been, and there's usually about a hundred naked guys running around burping, farting, sweating and bleeding all over everything. BELCH! Aw, Big Will--did ya have to do that?
OK, over here we have a bunch of, well, lockers. If you look over there, you'll see a bunch of, well, lockers. Down that way, as you can see, there are some...lockers. Over back there are some...nevermind. Hey, looky here, it's a jockstrap! Look, I'll just put it on my head and SNIFFFFFFF....anybody else want to try it? WHOA! OK, one at a time. HEY! Stop fighting over the jock, one guy can sniff it then pass it on [aside]they don't know it's just a prop--it's a joke. That jock hasn't been worn by anyone, but it was dunked in Ben Gay]
OK guys--as we go past all the...lockers...you'll see over here that we have showers. Yup, lots of them. I'll demonstrate how they work. This is what's called the 'shower handle'--and that is the 'shower head'. When I turn the handle, water comes out of that shower head. Jus tlike this PSSHHHSHSHSHSH Se? That's 250 Mill right there, beeyotch.
OK, now this is the other side of the locker room, and this is the door to exit out of it. Thanks, see you next year, GO BLUE!"

Zip Goshboots 03-25-2009, 09:21 PM King Beaver is reporting that Ricky Barnum, who actually was looking like a possible starter on the Oline, and at least playing his way into prime back up role, has a leg injury. He was on crutches today.
That's not a good thing at all.
FillyCheezeSteak 03-25-2009, 10:27 PM I'm confused Zip..........are we allowed to be fans or not allowed to be fans? Does being a fan mean you only can cheer for a team and nothing else? Should we not even be going to the Spring Game at all? Tell me where you draw the line so I know how to fall in line brother.

I think you would serve Michigan better if you moved to Serbia.
Once there, wear you Wal Mart gear and spread the word!

I think what Zip is talking about is the enormous weirdo douchebaggery manifesting itself in the following way, "They are doing locker room tours between 8 and 10 am and the line to get into the free tour is expected to be between 30,000 and 40,000 people."
Seriously?! Are you losers this fucked up in the head?!
FillyCheezeSteak 03-26-2009, 12:13 PM So you're saying that if Tom Izzo was having locker room tours you wouldn't expect anyone to show up? Help me out here boys. If MD was allowing a tour of the Spartan locker rooms and the mustache factory he works at there would be zero Sparties taking that ride?
I'm guessing you don't remember Dr. Tre's riveting series on the "other WTF" website. It's amazing how EVERYONE thought it was tight as hell that he was at a Sparty practice and was allowed to bring his camera if I remember correctly.
Are you jealous that we have 30,000 to 40,000 fans that give a crap? Are you secretly wishing you could don the winged helmet? Did your mom make you go to bed with no desert? Give us a ticket to the inner workings of your brains please.

Pitiful and weak. "Help me out here boys." You better hope they arrive with Howitzers.
Jethro34 03-26-2009, 07:19 PM bukdow doesn't need tours, he was at the school long enough to get two degrees. The locker rooms at EL tour him, not the other way around.
Plus, that experience he had in middle school with his gym teacher in their locker room has left his brain scarred with an idea of what a locker room is. He's not aware of the fact that university and professional locker rooms are basically lounges.
I'll agree that it's only a small percentage of fans who find that cool, and since he's more of an anti-UM fan that a real MSU fan, he'll never understand.

Overall the day was awesome and I'd recommened it to any Michigan fan for next year.
Tahoe 04-11-2009, 09:33 PM Thanks for the pics.
Glenn 04-12-2009, 02:05 PM Did they play April in the D?
FillyCheezeSteak 04-12-2009, 02:42 PM Did they play April in the D?
Thankfully no or else Wizzle would've had to cold cock Mark Champion once or twice.
Glenn 04-12-2009, 02:45 PM Isn't Champion an MSU guy?
Zip Goshboots 04-12-2009, 07:51 PM I think you can see how fast the team will be this year. In picture #2, you can't even see any players.
Oh...My...Gourd. That BARWIS is something! Gimme some o' dat chocolate milk!
Baker 04-23-2009, 07:40 PM Trenton Robinson. Spartans get excited. Wolverines, throw out his name now during water cooler talk with your Spartan buddies and have them bow down to you later.
Bay City kid, will be awesome to see the shock around the BT especially from a local kid for many of us.
Tahoe 04-23-2009, 08:02 PM BAY CITY!
FillyCheezeSteak 04-23-2009, 08:46 PM Who is faster..........Chris Rucker or Trent Robinson?
Tahoe 04-23-2009, 10:13 PM Trenton Robinson...he's from Bay City.
Baker 04-23-2009, 10:16 PM Who is faster..........Chris Rucker or Trent Robinson?
I would say Rucker by a hair. It would be fun to see Johnny Adams, both Chris Ruckers (yes there are two and both were state 100M Champions), and Robinson race. I would also like to see Rucker catch a damn ball. Everytime he's in the game I can hear Corso on NCAA saying "that's why that kid is on defense, he can't catch the ball." God knows that will be on the latest NCAA for the 10th time in a row.
FillyCheezeSteak 04-23-2009, 10:47 PM It was a rhetorical question.

FillyCheezeSteak 05-02-2009, 04:53 PM Anything noteworthy from MSU's spring game?
Both QB's threw for 357 yards and 4 touchdowns.............so they combined for 714 yards and 8 touchdowns in ONE GAME. Not too shabby. Looks like a two-QB system with some option and more of a "spread" look at times, but Caulton Ray, A.J. Jimmerson and especially Ashton Leggett will be the workhouses and pound the ball. Look for one of the frosh to redshirt while the other one steps up to be Leggett's backup by mid-season.

MSU's qbs are very very good. The numbers are shocking especially because MSU's defense is going to be good this year. Rock Baker will be the main ball carrier, probably from the first game. If it doesn't happen immediately, it's due to Dantonio having to gain trust. The backs in school right now are unimpressive. Anderson is the best of the group, Leggett for power. MSU's transfer tight end from Clemson is a freak. We're talking 1st team all Big Ten this year and that's not kool-aid talk. Deepest tight end group MSU has ever had when fall begins. D-line is average at best. WRs are very good but still have the droppsies, yes that is a technical term at 1:36am. O-line will be average.
Zip Goshboots 05-03-2009, 11:09 AM MSU's defense is supposed to be "good," but the D line is "average at best?"
O-line will be "average?" Wide receivers have the "droppsies?" the running backs don't appear to be impressive? Hmmmm

Defense will be good because the linebackers will be stellar and the secondary is going to be very good. The secondary will allow them to blitz and makeup for an average line.
Wide Receivers very good, but have the annoying Braylon problem. Great play, great play, easy dumb concentration drop. Baker as a tailback will be a superstar, the other backs in school won't see much time when he gets going.
Jethro34 05-05-2009, 04:13 PM So you're counting on a guy who missed most of his senior year with an injury to be the savior of the backfield? It could happen, but that's a lot of eggs to put in a damaged basket.
Wilfredo Ledezma 05-06-2009, 12:45 PM but have the annoying Braylon problem.
You mean having inferior cornerbacks? MSU's always had that problem.

That's funny, mothafucka. Dis is me laughin' real hard, mothafucka. Don't make me lose my cool like dis again.

Well, it's nowhere near the Michigan qb situation. Savior? Umm...no. They don't need a savior. Baker missed some of his senior year and it was basically because he played for a joke of a team and didn't want to risk further injury and his career after sustaining an injury during the year. Those that have watched Oak Park call their coach and program a disaster, kids are running wild with no discipline, yelling at coaches, etc.
At one time, Baker was listed on scout as the #2 rb in the country. So I feel okay about that. It isn't like they are desperate, Anderson and company just aren't anything special. Baker is.
JickBoy34 05-06-2009, 04:31 PM Well, it's nowhere near the Michigan qb situation.
Gotta love talking about MSU RB situation, yet Tre needs to take a shot at UM. Stay classy San Diego...lol. I don't think there is any doubt that UM is putting a ton of hope into the Focier/Robinson freshman QB dynamic. If they get us to 6-6, that is a successful season for RichRod year 2.
Zip Goshboots 05-06-2009, 04:44 PM Oh boy. I don't even WANT to comprehend being a Michigan football fan and saying 6-6 is a "good" season. Holy shit. Talk about either a house of cards that finally fell, or a total shit job by DickRod in Year 1. I vote for total Shit Job in losing to Toledo, Purdue and Northworstern. I say total Shit Job in making the team run the spread. I say total Shit Job in running out an offense that was the worst in Michigan history--and then firing your DEFENSIVE coordinator because his defense was on the field more than the paint on the artificial turf.
DickRod really fucked the dog last year, gents, and now here WE are saying "Boy, if we can just get to 6-6, I won't kill myself"--meanwhile Dantonio goes 16-9 and to bowl games in both his first two years with "someone else's players." YIKES!!!
Jethro34 05-06-2009, 04:47 PM You know Jethro will never call 6-6 a good season. Jethro can't stand 8-4.
A player putting his future above the team, now that's what I like to hear. If it were Manny Ramirez he would be trashed, but since it's Edwin Baker he's smart.
Zip Goshboots 05-06-2009, 04:52 PM Talking in third person? Wow. I was going to say you aren't cool enough for that, but since talking in the third person has been passe fro nearly a decade, maybe you finally are cool enough to do it.
Nevertheless, it is a sin on a board not sponsored by recruiting geeks.
http://www.bingegamer.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/bitch-slap-of-justice.jpg
Jethro34 05-06-2009, 09:03 PM passe fro? Is that like Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction?
I could speak in the douche person, but you and I aren't related so it's not in my gene pool.
Baker 05-06-2009, 10:43 PM Gotta love talking about MSU RB situation, yet Tre needs to take a shot at UM. Stay classy San Diego...lol. I don't think there is any doubt that UM is putting a ton of hope into the Focier/Robinson freshman QB dynamic. If they get us to 6-6, that is a successful season for RichRod year 2.
It might have had something to do with the "damaged basket" comment. I forgot it's all about good sports conversation here on WTF. I also forgot that it's all UM here and if you throw a shot back everybody gets pissy.
Baker 05-06-2009, 10:45 PM Ahhh the predictable Jethro spin, didn't see that coming. It's all good though because it was taking a shot at a Spartan. All that is welcome among WTF's 8 regulars, but if it is thrown back you can "Bank on it bitches" they will get pissy. It's comical after all these years. The same people getting pissy because they like to dish it, but can never take it. "Wait on it" pissy responses soon to follow.
I'd love to see what Jethro would do if he were an All American playing for a below .500 team with a full ride and potential NFL career on the horizon. I'm sure he would suck up his leg injury for the good of his joke of a HS team that won't see the playoffs. Amazing too, he's named a U.S. Army All American after "missing most of his senior year." Spin away...just make sure it's about a MSU player.
I just love throwing a few comments on WTF just to see shit start spinning.
Tahoe 05-06-2009, 11:16 PM Who had the better record next year Tre? UofM or MSU?
Zip Goshboots 05-07-2009, 02:08 AM Tahoe:
Prepare for a total disaster in Ann Arbor. Rodriguez can't handle the Big Time--the microscope. He belongs either hack in Morgantown--or on Cops in a wife beater with Rita chigging a bottle of Jack Daniels looking at the camera telling everyone she just fucked the paperboy and Rodriguez punched her in the eye for it--and now he's in big trouble because she's pregnant.
Holy shit. This Rodriguez thing is going to end badly. To think I was fooled--but the guy belongs back in the sticks chewing tobacco and humping west virginia cheerleaders. Michigan really blew it by not hiring LEs Miles.
I've got 12 cents to bet with anyone: Rodriguez is gone after 2010. Mybe before.
b-diddy 05-07-2009, 09:36 AM 8-5 with national championship type talent?? im not saying he wouldnt have been a good hire, maybe better. but you would have been calling for his head too, so whats the difference? the dumbest thing to do would be to fire rodriguez before he's given a chance to win (or fail) on his terms.
DennyMcLain 05-07-2009, 02:49 PM Nebraska's bringing back the Black Shirts. Maybe RRod should start the "Wife Beaters" unity shirts.

I'll see your 12 cents and raise you 7.
