Hampton over Iowa State, 2001.
Coppin State over South Carolina in 1997.
Santa Clara over Arizona, 1993.
Richmond over Syracuse, 1991.

This should not even be a game. There's a reason Kalin Lucas had no clue the school existed. There are more people at an average couch burning celebration in EL than there are students enrolled at RM.

RM had a 6-7 non-conference record. They lost by 20 to Pitt in a game where DeJuan Blair spent 17 minutes on the bench (and wasn't in foul trouble). Pitt scored 53 in the first half. RM is only here because for some reason the Northeast Conference exists and isn't D-II, allowing schools that have never won anything to compete in the tourney. They beat up on schools like Long Island, Wagner, Quinnipiac, and Monmouth to get 15 conference victories.

At least Boston College and USC exist in the sphere of national recognition. 2nd round might be competitive for a few minutes.
