View Full Version : Got a new bike.
bukdow 03-18-2009, 12:55 PM I bought a Salsa Moto Rapido frame and then built the bike up from there. I must say, it is an excellent bike. It kind of got me to thinking, my bike pretty much reflects me. That being, very cool, elite and overall, out of the reach of the average knuckledragger. Then I got to thinking some more (with the help of a six-pack of Old Speckled Hen), that everybodys` bike is probably a reflection of them. So, WTF, what kind of bike do you have? Or, for those of you who no longer ride a bike (I ride to work everyday and probably ride about 120 miles a week total. just sayin` is all), what was your last bike?
Zip Goshboots 03-18-2009, 12:57 PM I rode your wife while you were out on your tricycle last week, pedalling to the store for a new wedge and maul.
Hermy 03-18-2009, 12:57 PM My last bike was a Huffy I had when I was 11 or 12. My buddy borrowed it and stuck 2 used condoms he found on the ground on the foam handle-grips, essentially ending my bicycling days.
bukdow 03-18-2009, 01:02 PM So far, pretty expected. Although, Hermy>Zip.
Zip Goshboots 03-18-2009, 01:09 PM bukdow, your wife likes anal. But my ass is still sore.
HEY! Did I say that out loud?

Zip Goshboots 03-18-2009, 01:26 PM Yeah, and I'm not ashamed to say I liked it!
Glenn 03-18-2009, 01:34 PM I had a bike when I was in college. It broke and I upgraded to a Honda Spree.
I used to collect Honda Sprees, actually.
Love the thread, I'll hang up and wait for Denny to gloss his crotch rockets.

Aw, meow.
bukdow 03-18-2009, 02:00 PM Did you put those little cardboard mail in reply cards from your Harper's magazine in the spokes bukdow?
No. Even Harper`s mail in reply cards couldn`t stand up to the way I ride. Don`t forget, chippewa, I was a bicycle messenger in SF. Therefore, my ability to consistently and precisely ride a bike at high speeds is fairly unmatched in these parts. Just ask the MSU faculty that I leave in the dust while they are riding their Lance Armstrong wannabe roadbikes.
Zip Goshboots 03-18-2009, 02:10 PM bukdow, you've NEVER told us about your days in San Francisco.
I feel his overall attitude tells us all we need to know about his time in the "happiest" city in America.
Timone 03-18-2009, 03:28 PM bukdow, you've NEVER told us about your days in San Francisco.
I believe bukdow is actually Dave Coulier, aka Joey from Full House.

I`ll bet that Special Olympiad you so lovingly exhibit as your avatar has a Curious George bike with training wheels that he can go really, really fast on. Thus, leading the resurgance.
Ah, yes, the SF days. Well, I moved out there with my girlfriend when we were both 19. I lived in a swank apartment in North Beach with her at first because her parents were rich. I then dumped her and moved in with a glamorous vegan from Vancouver. We lived in the Tenderloin because it was shabby chic. Then, when my friend graduated from RIT, he and I moved in together. We lived in Middle Haight. Primarily, I smoked pot, worked as a bicycle messenger and skied. It was a great time. Then, after nearly 6 years of that, I came back and got not one, but two degrees from MSU. And now, I work with nanoclay polymers. Theres more, but I don`t have time right now.
Glenn 03-19-2009, 10:10 AM another instant classic

Why would you disparage bicycling? Are you weak? Do you lack endurance? Is your co-ordination that of a one-legged swine?
I find that those who attempt to disgrace integrated physicality for the sake of the appearance of wealth and/or power are generally sorely lacking on all fronts.
bukdow 03-19-2009, 06:00 PM If that doesn't tell pot smokers that they can also do great things in life, I don't know what does.
Indeed. And, if done with discretion one can still partake occasionally. Its all in how you do it.

Yeah, thats pretty lame. However, many cities are not set up for pedestrians or bicyclists. Then of course, there is that whole social stigma that goes along with walking. It is assumed by some that because you are walking you are economically disadvantaged and therefore have no chance of getting the bitches.
Timone 03-19-2009, 06:22 PM I was pretty young the last time I had a bike. I was living in Soufwest Detroit, where I grew up, and I think my dumb ass left it on the porch. We believe the guy that came over to shovel our snow stole it.

You have it wrong - I'm saying we need to keep bukdow's threads where he starts them so the excellence can continue. People need to stop saying "Is this NCAA material?" or "Swat this!" because when bukdow starts a thread you can be sure that it's going to be amazing. Once we move it, bukky can't find it, thus killing the thread.
