I'm gonna predict that Northwestern beats Minnesota by 4 and then goes out and lays an egg on Friday and losses to Sparty by 27. Michigan State vs. Purdue in the final and Sparty wins and forces the committe to give them a #1 seed..........in the West.

P.S. Does anyone know if the #1 and #2 seeds have met in the finals of the BTT before? I seem to remember a lot of teams being in the finals that shouldn't have been there.

Bonus Point - Which team won the first ever Big Ten Tournament?!?

Does MSU want to be a #1 seed in the big dance outside the Midwest?

I would think they'd rather be a #2 in the Midwest.

I hear ya. It's either that or be the #2 or #3 in the North Carolina "Free and easiest path to the Final Four" regional.

Yeah, but is it still in the books? lol.

On another note, Michigan needs to beat Iowa bad. Can't have 2 losses to Iowa and a record of 19-13. I'm a little nervous.

I've got Sparty vs. Illinois in the final with Illinois pulling it out. Don't ask me why. Randomness.

I know many think schools like Creighton are out of it (didn't win conference tourney) but at 26-7 in a mid major, and the reg season champ, how do you keep them out? Quite frankly, they deserve it over a 19-13 team (if UM loses to Iowa) that finished 9-9 in conference, and one of those losses was to a shit Iowa team that didn't have its two best players (not to mention getting swept by OSU, which wasn't really any good this year). I have no ears to lend teams that have to whine their way in. Ya got 31 games and a conference tournament, asshole, if you can't get it done during that time, have fun in the NIT for all I care.

I still have time to get to Walmart and buy me a maul, a maize and blue tent, a Hillbilly poster and get back in time to get all pumped up listening to a motivational clip by THE motivational speaker himself, Coach Beilein.

Creighton has beaten a bunch of nobodies, while Michigan has beaten some of the best in the country. Sometimes you take quality over quantity.

Revsine made a good point on ESPN Radio this morning.

The committee has said that teams need to go out and play the best of the best in their non-conference schedule. UM did just that and excelled. If they were to keep them out, especially just to take a team with a few more wins with a cupcake n-c schedule, that would really be sending the wrong message.

Illinois has a Big Stiff named "Tisdale" who basically killed UM in the second game. Sims was no match for him. But UM split the series with the Illini this year, so anything can happen, especially on a neutral floor.

He looks like a defender type of center. 10 and 4. Not bad, but he's about to get wrecked tomorrow.

im glad we're playing illinois just so we can go up against the corpse of tisdale. we need to prep against playing bigmen, since its killed us all year.

we're in, now the concern is seeding. i dont know how you project seeding, but whatever keeps us out of the 8/9 bracket im all for. i'd gladly play a 7 seed as a 10 and not face a 1 seed in the round of 32 any day. but i guess im getting ahead of myself...

Jethro34
03-12-2009, 10:36 PM
If you watch Tisdale, he looks like 7'1", 165 lbs of white trash. He shouldn't have any game, but because Gibson has forgotten he's 6'10" (actually Gibson's play was a big key to UM beating Ill in AA) and Sims gets shook any time somebody could potentially block his shot, Tisdales length killed us in Champagne.

Hopefully today's early dominance (and the play during the past 4 games) has done great things for Sims confidence. He still, like the previous big man named Sims, has a high finess finish to dunk ratio. A monster Sims dunk would shake Tisdale, who can't even stand straight up when running down the court. Seriously, he's like Lurch from a trailer park.

UofM

2nd unit played really good there. Basically a tie game with 2 and 4 left in the half.

I started watching this and am having a hard time switching over to the Pistons.

The shot clock is waaaay too long, though.

The three point line needs to be the same as the NBA, too, the current distance is silly.

Michigan shooting 9 for 30 in the first half. Illinois has one of their best players injured. This is not a good recipe for a Michigan victory.

Michigan knows they made the tournament and they're playing like it.

It also doesn't help that Illinois is making everything and Michigan is missing every shot they take.
