yea, that was the case. She did it rudely and it hit him. Whether she intended to hit him, who knows. But either way the level of his response was out of line.

Even that dumbass we had in office the last 8 years reacted better to flying shoes, and those were at his head.

It fits the legal definition of assault. You so much as touch a cop without the cop's permission, and it can be construed as some sort of assault. Cops don't want incidental or minor contact to be anything other than a foul call by the refs. Assuming there's a conviction, the reality is that the judge will use this mitigating factor as a sentencing guideline and a slap on the wrist happens.

I am not saying it's right. I'm just saying that's how it's likely to play out.

It should be noted that another deputy from the same precinct, Brian Bonnar, was acquitted two months ago for beating up a female prisoner who was in handcuffs already and not resisting arrest. This was despite the testimony of another officer against the deputy. So, my spider-sense telling me "cop gets off light" has some support.
