View Full Version : Manny Harris is Weak Sack
Zip Goshboots 02-22-2009, 07:50 PM I remember Dr Tre warning us about falling in love with Manny Harris. Now, he IS surrounded by a team of incompetent pussies, but still, he is bonafide
WEAK SACK

FillyCheezeSteak 02-22-2009, 07:57 PM I DVR'ed the game, but just found out we went to overtime and lost and apparently Manny was benched. So before I subject myself to the DVR someone fill me in on what actually happened.
Jethro34 02-22-2009, 09:07 PM UM was up 4 with a minute left. A couple curious foul calls put the best free throw shooter in the Big Ten on the line. We had the ball with 22 seconds to get the last shot, and apparently we had no idea what the clock looked like, therefore, Manny shot at the buzzer from about 4 feet behind the 3 point line (as opposed to somebody f-ing driving).
Then we were horrible in OT. Couldn't hit a thing. No one at all moves toward the basket. We had 4 guards and Sims, and Sims was above the foul line the entire time. Gibson had a poopy game and didn't play much because of foul trouble, but you'll never get open looks from 3 if no one is near the rim.
Letting this one slip put a nail in the coffin for NCAA hopes. This team is done unless they can somehow win the Big Ten tourney. They have shown the ability to do that, but not the consistency to have a winning streak of that length against conference foes.
Jmich24 02-26-2009, 10:38 PM Don't look now but HARRIS and Sims are playing amazing tonight. Upset alert! Michigan up 11 with 8:26 to go.
Purdue's big men are on the bench either sick or in foul trouble.
Tahoe 02-26-2009, 10:45 PM Is Wizzle laughing or crying?
Jmich24 02-26-2009, 10:52 PM Fool is that suppose to bother me? That is great news for Michigan Basketball.
Jethro34 02-26-2009, 10:54 PM Realize that Hummel, preseason player of the year, is having one of his best games of the season. I think that negates the fact that Darko is sick and they put Johnson into foul trouble.
Just adding context. He's playing great. He's just doing it against SFs. They are really playing well defensively though.
Jethro34 02-26-2009, 11:29 PM Not to mention that UM has been without their biggest (literally) potential piece of frontcourt depth all season. By now, there's no telling what Cronin could have contributed. He certainly would have helped against Tisdale and Mullens. Not saying UM would have for sure won those, but a guy who isn't feeling well doesn't really give me sympathy for the #16 team in the country. Yes, he's their 5th leading scorer at under 7 per game and he's tall and experienced. Let it go.
Let it go? You are the one going from here to Timbuktu trying to rebut the fact that Purdue was a little short handed for the game, which is all I said. Defensive much?
It's never useful coming into the college forum. It's always a joke no matter what team the poster roots for.
Moodini31 02-26-2009, 11:46 PM Weak Sack huh? 27, 8, and 4 vs. # 16. DeShawn was huge too with 29. I still think "we" need to win 2 more out of at Wiscy, at Minny, and the Big Ten Tourney. It's gonna be tough.
And Jethro, you gotta stop hyping Cronin. He's going to be junk. Baby giraffe junk.
Darth Thanatos 02-26-2009, 11:54 PM Beating a team ranked in the teens really isn't an upset.
Jethro34 02-26-2009, 11:55 PM You don't think he could be the next Chris Young? Come on. That's what Graham Brown was.
Say what you want about either of them, but if this team gets to be REALLY good, he could be their Aloysius Anogonye/whatever. Someone big, bulky, tough, with 5 fouls, 7 points and 4 rebounds.
Jethro34 02-26-2009, 11:57 PM Beating a team ranked in the teens really isn't an upset.
A number of Vegas books had UM getting 3 points even though they were home. ESPN.com had it on Upset Alert. Considering Purdue was only one loss back from the Big Ten lead coming in, I still feel ok calling it an upset.
Timone 02-27-2009, 12:15 AM From the recap on AOL Sports:
The Wolverines haven't earned an NCAA tournament bid since 1998, but they've got a shot to end the drought with two talented upperclassmen - Sims and Harris - recruited by former coach Tommy Amaker, gutsy freshmen and savvy coaching by John Beilein, who is in his second season.
bukdow 02-28-2009, 10:52 AM From the recap on AOL Sports:
Just remember who started the "gutsy" craze. Me, thats who. Fucker.
Good win by UM. Especially considering its two best players (Harris and Sims) are horrendously retarded. You can actually see in Sims eyes that he sometimes forgets what team he is on.
I really applaud Bielein for the job he has done with these two special young men. I dare say, they both have nearly made the "short bus to long bus" transition. Truly, "Michigan Men".
Zip Goshboots 02-28-2009, 10:59 AM bukdow, I've got to agree that I can't figure out how Belein has won more than five games this year with this cast of players. Holy shit, if this guy can recruit a couple-three Big Timers to UM, shit, your Sparties are going to be turned into Belein Fluffers.
Every time I dump on Belein and say that this hire never excited me to even close to bonerdom, they pull something like that Purdue game out of their colostomy bags. Dare I say that they seem to play BETTER when they play BETTER teams?
I am bothered by some of the losses. Iowa? Without two of their best players? Should never have gotten to where my fellow Wolverine fans had to (AGAIN!) whine about officiating. Penn State and some others that I can't think of because for once I DON'T have a hangover bother me as well. Maybe next year they win a few of those "iffy" games and get to the Dance with no problem.
I just hope Belein can get some serious talent to Ann Arbor, cuz I don't care how good a coach you are, you need PLAYAS.

I'm listening!

Your wish might just come true. This year they lose Lee, Merritt, and Shepherd. Lee and Merritt are the captains and they serve as poised leaders, but talent-wise there is also a reason they were walk-ons. I think they have guys that can step up as leaders, and actually the opportunity to step up could be really good for some of them. Shepherd is Shepherd.
Replacing them statistically means replacing about 7 points, 4 rebs, and 3 assists in over 35 minutes.
Darius Morris can likely replace that on his own, as a big 4 star PG.
Consider the fact that UM also adds a guy called the best pure shooter in his class by the Sporting News (a little publication you may have heard of - even though Bukdow doesn't subscribe) and a couple guys with some legit size to help match up against bigger teams.
Assuming Sims and Harris stay in college this team will undoubtably be more talented next season, and should easily win 20+ games.
Zip Goshboots 02-28-2009, 08:08 PM Jethro:
I'm sorry, dude, but you really don't strike me as a guy that would be a whole lot of fun to hang around with. You are too serious.
MoTown 02-28-2009, 09:32 PM Just remember who started the "gutsy" craze. Me, thats who. Fucker.
I don't want to steal your thunder, but I was a pretty important key to the "gutsy" craze. Just sayin'...

You're right, you and I hanging out wouldn't be very fun.
Zip Goshboots 03-01-2009, 12:01 AM You're right, you and I hanging out wouldn't be very fun.
Yeah. I wouldn't be much for drinking kool aid and doing Sudoku puzzles and debating the 40 times of all the recruits Rodriguez has lined up in Dookeypookey, Florida, and hoping that a team full of 5'4, 129 lbs ballet dancers will one day RULE the NCAA.
Jethro34 03-01-2009, 06:13 AM I'm down with the kool aid, my drink of choice. Especially Tropical Punch, you know, in the dark blue packet but it actually makes red.
Sudoku is only cool online, where you can request it to check your answers periodically so you don't damn near finish only to find out you messed up somewhere and you have to erase everything. Not much of a group activity - like the kool aid drinking.
40 times are overrated. Speed in pads, hanging onto the ball, breaking tackles, making tackles, reading angles properly - all far more important than 40 times.
But to your point, I likewise would not be down with drinking hard liquor in your mom's basement, sitting around with four other guys watching Texas Hold 'em and passing around back issues of Maxim, wondering whether or not the other people are drunk enough to not notice if you start to stroke it a little when looking at pictures of a partially washed up pop star in a swimsuit that no one would swim in, fantasizing that she might, just for a moment, have been willing to wear that same thing even if she had realized that someone like me would one day drool over it.

That last paragraph wasn`t bad for a Northwood alumni. However, it did sound a little too "based-on-actual-events". Still, a strong effort.
bukdow 03-01-2009, 09:31 AM I don't want to steal your thunder, but I was a pretty important key to the "gutsy" craze. Just sayin'...
In what way, may I ask?
Vinny 03-01-2009, 10:16 AM A Gutsy way, of course.

I've got to disagree, buk. Jethro pulls the "mom's basement" card that is so, well, played. Not :gutsy: at all. His next original thought will be his first original thought.
Jethro34 03-01-2009, 07:23 PM Sorry, should I have gone with tenement landlord instead?

I did say not bad for a Northwood alumni, didn`t I?
MoTown 03-01-2009, 09:37 PM In what way, may I ask?
I was just requesting recognition for the assist. I could post the original transcript for you if you want.

I thought Jethro was all SagNasty?

MoTown with the assist. I remember it.
bukdow 03-02-2009, 04:40 PM I was just requesting recognition for the assist. I could post the original transcript for you if you want.
OK, you get the assist. I`ll even give you the hockey-style assist where you also get a point or some fucking thing.
bukdow 03-02-2009, 04:40 PM I thought Jethro was all SagNasty?
That guy is SagNasty like Grand Blanc is Flint.
Zip Goshboots 03-02-2009, 04:58 PM buk, why don't you visit my other thread about the UM excuse machine and let us know what you think? It's funny, but Dantonio and the Izzo didn't need a half decade to get their shit together up in Lansing, but apparently when you become the head coach at Michigan, you need upwards of several thousand years to get your players and system in place.
Tahoe 03-02-2009, 05:01 PM Zip asking Buk to visit Zips threads is just hilarious to me....but I'm not sure why.
Zip Goshboots 03-02-2009, 05:07 PM Tahoe, just how do you explain your love for this man?

MoTown 03-02-2009, 09:19 PM OK, you get the assist. I`ll even give you the hockey-style assist where you also get a point or some fucking thing.
ZING!
Season Point Totals:
bukdow: 1
MoTown: 1
Everybody else: 0
Get your act together team. I'm sick of bukky and I carrying you guys.
Timone 03-02-2009, 09:32 PM What about the hockey stick to the neck while Mo's down on the ice?
MoTown 03-02-2009, 10:18 PM lol
I'm hoping bukky gives you a point for that one.
bukdow 03-03-2009, 05:16 PM What about the hockey stick to the neck while Mo's down on the ice?
I won`t rule that out. Its up to Mo. Act like a douche, get the stick. Act above-board and no stick. I hope Mo learns that life lesson quicker than that little UM piss-ant hockey player.
Glenn 03-03-2009, 05:59 PM ^that might be an instant classic
MoTown 03-03-2009, 10:14 PM I won`t rule that out. Its up to Mo. Act like a douche, get the stick. Act above-board and no stick. I hope Mo learns that life lesson quicker than that little UM piss-ant hockey player.
Lesson learned.
Glenn 03-27-2010, 11:52 AM Freep says he's going to declare for the draft, but probably not hire an agent.
