If I was a victory whore I would have jumped ship. My family has a long history with UM, with several family members attending. The fact that I wasted too much time in high school and was late to grow up and take academics seriously (still did well enough to be accepted at multiple D1 schools and attend one until out of state tuition caused me to return to the state) never has or never will disqualify me from being a part of a family tradition I was born into. My children will be raised wearing maize and blue gifts from their alumni relatives. I plan to teach them the value of academics and hope they take it seriously enough to attend UM. They will not be forced to attend UM even if they are accepted, but I won't deny them the right to cheer for the university sports teams, win or lose.

Also, if I was a victory whore, wouldn't I be one of those people that likes UM football, MSU hoops, the Steelers and Patriots, the Celtics and Lakers, the Yankees or Red Sox? I despise the majority of those teams.
