View Full Version : Gibbs pressers
Tahoe 02-06-2009, 02:06 PM Are starting to get a lil chippy.
And how can someone who articulated BOs message so well during the campaign be so weak in his pressers.
Heres most of what he said today..
ah ah ah, I shouldn't ah ah ah, I won't ah ah ah, Today we'll ah ah ah ah and ah ah, and so ah.
Timone 02-06-2009, 02:06 PM That presser was probably more articulate than how I am offline.
Tahoe 02-06-2009, 02:08 PM ^ Yea right.
Me on the other hand, can barely put a sentence together, but public speaking aint what I do.
Glenn 02-06-2009, 02:09 PM I like Gibbs, he cracks me up.
I haven't seen or analyzed any of his pressers though.
Maybe I'll watch the full breakdown on Fox News tonight.
Timone 02-06-2009, 02:10 PM ^ Yea right.
Me on the other hand, can barely put a sentence together, but public speaking aint what I do.
No, seriously. I'm one of those "more articulate in writing" types.
Tahoe 02-06-2009, 02:12 PM I liked him during the campaign...or at least I thought he did a good job, but he needs to step it up...subtract about 3,762 ahs and he'll be fine.
Wilfredo Ledezma 02-06-2009, 02:17 PM Robert Gibbs got pwned by somebody yesterday, it was a question in regards to Daschle.
Tahoe 02-06-2009, 07:59 PM ^ Saw it
Glenn 02-09-2009, 08:26 PM I'm digging this "B.O." presser right now, though.
Tahoe 02-09-2009, 09:13 PM Its always good when you have a Prez that speaks to you.
Its always good when you have a Prez that can speak.
fixed
Tahoe 02-09-2009, 09:40 PM Who gives a shit..just carry a big stick
Wilfredo Ledezma 02-09-2009, 10:21 PM W. was 2-0-0 in elections.
W. was 2-0-0 in elections.
That's debatable.
Wilfredo Ledezma 02-09-2009, 10:32 PM The Electorate would never screw over a Democrat if he really did win.
W's 2000 win was legit, IMO.
Wilfredo Ledezma 02-09-2009, 10:33 PM W. was just a product of facing two inferior candidates.
Tahoe 02-09-2009, 10:36 PM The Electorate would never screw over a Democrat if he really did win.
W's 2000 win was legit, IMO.
There is no 'opinion' about it. It was legit.
Uncle Mxy 02-10-2009, 04:36 AM There was definitely an "opinion" about the 2000 election. Bush v. Gore was a Supreme Court opinion.
Since SCOTUS explicitly did not establish Bush v. Gore as being precedent for anything, it really is an "opinion" in a casual sense.
Ultimately, there was THE opinion about it. :)

Uncle Mxy 03-10-2009, 09:57 PM Those "umms" and "uhhs" assure me that he really is speaking for the President.
:)
Tahoe 03-10-2009, 09:59 PM LOL. I know you can do that kind of editing over time, but that was from 1 presser.
Heres a lil more pointed exchange

Tahoe 03-16-2009, 06:11 PM John McCain took heat for saying the fundamentals of our economy are strong...explaining that he was talking about the worker etc.
Gibbs, in an oh shit moment imo, when quetioned about the administrations talking point last week about the economy being strong...said..."The fundamentals are SOUND. There's a difference.
LMAO
Vinny 03-16-2009, 06:24 PM I'm not sure what you're saying? There is a big difference, no?
Tahoe 03-16-2009, 06:38 PM Between Sound and Strong? Not for me.
Hermy 03-16-2009, 06:42 PM Really? On a scale of 1-10 sound is 4, strong is 8-9, yes?
Tahoe 03-16-2009, 06:51 PM Y'all crack me up...and I thank for that.
BO, his team, y'all made such a fuckin deal out of JM saying that, but its crickets now. Thats a huge difference. Much larger than the difference between sound and strong.
Uncle Mxy 03-16-2009, 07:52 PM I believe there's a distinction between "sound" and "strong". It's a compromise, trying to come across as guardedly hopeful, but not foolish. That said, I don't think that many of our economic fundamentals are either "sound" or "strong".
Glenn 03-16-2009, 08:16 PM You couldn't really expect for it to be treated equally when one was said by a presidential candidate in the heat of a historic race and the other was uttered by a mouthpiece in a ordinary press conference.
Tahoe 03-16-2009, 08:17 PM ^ Yes I could.
Tahoe 03-16-2009, 08:17 PM <---Lookin for a fight
Glenn 03-16-2009, 08:17 PM Go shove LDB.
Tahoe 03-16-2009, 08:20 PM Can you set up a wager for us when LDB's 700 P's will be gone?
Glenn 03-16-2009, 08:23 PM We can handle it via PM maybe.
We just need an uninvolved 3rd party.
Uncle Mxy 03-16-2009, 08:55 PM ^ Yes we can.
Fixed. :)
Tahoe 03-16-2009, 08:57 PM I do get a lil help from my friends, but you might be surprised how much of this shit I come up with myself.

Glenn 03-17-2009, 11:27 AM I still have a bit of a mancrush on Gibbs. He's just so naturally funny, and snarky.
Tahoe 05-19-2009, 06:25 PM ah ah ah ah ah ha bump ah ah ah ah ah ah
Tahoe 08-13-2009, 10:46 PM Major Garrett or whatever his name is, hit a nerve with Ah ah uhm uhm ah ah today.
Tahoe 08-14-2009, 11:23 PM I can't believe emails are sent out by the WH to peeps who dont want them. New lows.
Tahoe 08-19-2009, 08:57 PM Barbara Boxer is funny as hell and when I say funny, I mean funny.
Tahoe 08-23-2009, 07:43 AM uh ah and I, the President uh uhm uh uh, feels uh uh uhm that ah uhm....
Tahoe 10-21-2009, 01:38 AM Please don't fire this guy Mr T.
Tahoe 02-02-2011, 01:19 PM As CKrauthammer suggested, Gibbs should be put under house arrest til this Egypt deal is over. He has NO idea what to say. Its a tough spot to be in, no doubt, but give the man some cards to read from and tell him to pick one and read it every time there is a question on Egypt.
He could write it on his hand.
Glenn 02-03-2011, 11:36 AM He could write it on his hand.
That's nice.
Tahoe 02-03-2011, 12:01 PM The infatuation continues.
Glenn 02-03-2011, 12:12 PM The hilarity continues.
Tahoe 02-03-2011, 12:17 PM I posted the Schummer thing in another thread.
