I know a few people here have some high def tv's and blu rays. What movies have been impressive and what have been just so so.

So far the best blu rays quality wise i've seen are

Tropic Thunder
Blade Runner(its fucking amazing what they got out of such an old previously grainy movie on Blu ray, its like watching something new).
Crank(shot with HD cameras, it has a slick clearness to it).
Mission Impossible 3
Dark Knight's IMAX parts(the rest of the movie is solid but nothing compares to the IMAX 70mm shots).

So-so picture:
War
Terminator 2

I've only seen a few Blu-Ray movies, but here's my take on them.

Wall-E: As good as you'd expect a direct digital transfer to look. Flawless.
TDK: The IMAX scenes are superb, and the rest isn't bad, either.
Pan's Labyrinth: Nothing noticeably wrong with it, and it was very clean, though it didn't make me say "Wow" at any point.
One of the Bourne movies (I think it was Conspiracy): It was hard to tell, since the camera was shaking all the time, but I remember it as being merely adequate; certainly not a showcase title.
Rocky Balboa: Eh. The portion of the fight on HBO-style videotape was effective, but the rest didn't impress.

Yea the animated movies seem to get the highest marks in transfer quality(even the Simpsons looks pretty damn good in hi def, which i didnt expect). Which is why i'm definitely grabbing "The Incredibles" when it hits blu ray.

Definitely check out that Blade Runner Blu Ray, it's the pretty amazing how good it looks.

Cloverfield, 300 and Appleseed: Ex Machina and 3 movies that I don't regret owning on blu ray for one second.

300 is really nice on Blu Ray. Haven't seen Cloverfield, but movies shot on digital cameras usually turn out good on blu ray(i.e. Crank), and Anything animated looks great on it it seems so far.
