Cardinals to SHOCK THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 31-27

Glenn

So what's up with your guy Boldin, LDB?

Also, WOTS is that about half the Cardinal team hates ownership and is pissed off about their contract situations.

Timone
01-19-2009, 01:54 PM
Quan and I go way back, I'd know if something was up. I can honestly say that it's just Quanny being Quanny. What he and the rest of the team are doing, and I'm going to need you to keep this on the down low, is throw off all the Cardinals haters out there by making them think like there's some sort of problem within.

The Cardinals are a brilliantly run organization. It's just them employing another one of their brilliant tactics.

Word on the street is that Boldin and Haley had some sort of shouting match on the sidelines during the NFC Championship Game.

It's true.

I don't know if this was a mistake or not, but ESPN showed one of their "electoral maps" last night and it showed that all but 6 states in the U.S. think the CARDINALS are going to win.

It was really shocking to me, which makes me think that it might have been a mistake.

Glenn
01-31-2009, 10:26 AM
I guess it's not a mistake.

Also, the spread is down to 6.5 at many places.

People don't actually think they're going to win. People just want them to win so they're voting for them. I'd love to see Zona win a Super Bowl but more than likely the Steelers will thump them (even if its close I'll consider it thumping them)

Glenn
01-31-2009, 02:57 PM
I just remembered that Warner and Ben were my two QBs in fantasy football this year, lol.

It was a bit surprising that Tomlin selected the always-inspiring Phil Collins to play for the team for his big speech last night.

Although I can see how "In the air tonight" could be motivating, I suppose.

Glenn

Incredible play by Harrison.

If he goes down on the one inch line, no score.

I just knew they would get a defensive TD, but I figured that Polamalu would get it.

This game is pretty much unfolding exactly as I had imagined.

Hopefully :we: can finish it off now.

Tahoe

"IF" the Cards would have scored instead of being intercepted at the end of the half, this game would be TOTALLY different.

Obviously that deserves a duh, but 1 play makes a HUGE difference in this game.

02-01-2009, 09:43 PM
There goes my money.

Let's go Cards!

Tahoe
02-01-2009, 09:44 PM
Card go score, then the Steelers tie it up with a last second FG and we go into 9 OTs...is what I'm hoping.

Glenn
02-02-2009, 06:52 AM
That was fun.

Tomlin is a really cool cat, and he's only 36. Maybe he'll stick around 30 years or so.

Lots of memorable/awesome plays (Harrison, Fitz, Holmes, etc.) and a close finish should have made even those without a rooting interest happy. Although my blood pressure has probably never been higher.

And as for Holmes, you are a stinking Buckeye, you fucked my fantasy team down the stretch, but I forgive you.

6, bitches.

I wasn't a fan of the officiating. It put a damper on an otherwise great game. Harrison should have been ejected (not sure that would have made a difference later). The face masking personal foul in the 4th was BS. Holmes had his hand in the face of the defender (call both or neither). On the other hand, there were probably even more Arizona holds missed (they simply couldn't contain the OLBs coming.

Great game though.

Out of the QB's today I'd give Brady the nod at one for sure and he and Manning would be fighting it out for two (with a slight nod to Ben maybe right now).

For QB's in my lifetime he'd be competing with Elway as well and Joe Montana is still the undisputed number 1 clutch QB. He hasn't been retired that long really and I have no idea how he's already been forgotten. My only guess would have to be because of the hype machine that is sports media today.

Which is the main reason Ben is now considered in the top clutch QBs. He's good, don't get me wrong, but is he really THAT good? Last year Eli was suddenly one of the most clutch QBs just because he made a couple big throws, this year its Ben, next year it will be whoever comes up big in the Super Bowl, its just a continuous cycle of everyone trying to find "the best" based on an extremely small sample.

Last year Eli was suddenly one of the most clutch QBs just because he made a terrible throw that should have been picked and David Tyree miraculously grabbed it off his head. This year its Ben, next year it will be whoever comes up big in the Super Bowl, its just a continuous cycle of everyone trying to find "the best" based on an extremely small sample.

Very true, but a lot of people were talking about him making a "clutch" play there because of how he broke away from getting sacked to make the throw. My point was just that we spend too much time trying to catagorize everything instead of just enjoying it.
