That is just incredible, thank you.

Can't believe that I've never seen that before.

Glenn

What is it 20 years old, maybe?

Timone

I just caught it on TV a few minutes ago, actually.

Glenn

I understand, but there is no way that it was produced recently.

Let's just pretend it was so we can start to feel better about the quality of television these days.

I'd like to get one of those just so I can have conversations with that guy when I'm at home. But if I did, I'd have to start wearing something besides a t-shirt and boxers around the house.

Right?

I can see it now when I open the fridge, "Life Alert? Should I choose milk or juice?"

"THIS IS LIFE ALERT, WE HAVE ALWAYS PREFERRED JUICE"

GM's OnStar should see this as a business growth opportunity.

I think this probably was produced recently, taking advantage of advances in video streaming technology over IP for the surveilance.

Glenn

You think? Look at the hairstyles and the cars.

Vinny

Probably some stock footage.

This is Life Alert. You're drunk and that bitch you just brought home from the bar is really fat. LEAVE NOW.

Something about that commercial reminds me of Austin Powers. I can't place it though.

In addition to the hair and the cars, I know why this looks old.

This is one of those creepy YouTube videos where someone has just filmed their TV set, isn't it?

That commercial scares the shit out of me. I also love how they have a distinguished older guy handling the alerts and WITH CAMERA ACCESS INSIDE YOUR HOME. Have any of you ever worked at a call center? I can't imagine I would want more than about 1% of your average call center employee list with that ability.

Produced in 1984 apparently.

Would be funny if the LifeAlert center sublet to India.

Seems about right, I think :we: nailed that one.

I doubt that the commercial was done in 1984, since LifeAlert didn't exist until 1987. BTW, the 1-800 # in the commercial still works, even though that's not the number they advertise these days.

Ah, and so the age old question stands.

Thinking about it, all one needs to do is teach their elderly parents how to use a flare gun. When they fall, pull the gun and fire into air.

And make certain to toss gun before cops arrive.

And make sure to aim it straight up.

When outside.

Not near an airport.

....*

Ahhh fuck it. Old people live too long these days, anyhow.
