Good article here:

http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/23qb/23qbs.php

I think you need to have a good OL and defense before taking a high one...but the numbers are quite telling on QB's taken after round 1. There are very few successes.

I'd rather not take Bradford or Stafford, but if you think they are the next great QB you may not get another shot at someone like them (except for the fact they'll have another top 5 pick next year anyway).

There's no need to rush into grabbing a QB. After watching some of the bowl games, there are plenty of QBs with poor reads, bad mechanics, bad arm and slow to take one early. We can find one of those guys late.

I don't know where Sanchez is projected, but he looks legit to me.

McShay has him at #15 now.

Everything will get shuffled a ton at the combine when they dissect everything.

I wouldn't take any QB until the 4th round this year.

OT, MLB, DE, DT, OG should all be taken before a QB. "we" could get starter material at all of those positions with a good draft given the number of picks and the crap we have at those positions now.

They'll still be picking top 10 next year and can get their Matt Ryan then.

I agree that a high QB pick would be a luxury they can't afford right now, even if they got it right and picked a good one, by chance.

Gotta build up the trenches on both sides, first, IMO.

But that's the same story as it has been for over a decade now, and they still haven't done it.

I don't want to waste another year of CJ with no QB to get him the ball.

I don't want to waste a year of Bradford/Stafford lying on his back, or sitting on the bench because the defense can't get off the field.

I'd rather sign McNabb and buy some time for the OL to gel and the defense to rebuild.

And Valter wants to play, but we don't get everything we want. If we did, I'd have the respect of my family and peers.

McNabb? I'd rather go with DC for another year.

McNabb's not leaving Philly anyway. Still want to go with DC?

If "we" did get everything "we" wanted our backcourt would be Earl Watson and Flip Murray with Corey Brewer, Jeff Foster and Camby up front.

and when I mean "we" you know who I mean.

I think he does have like a $10m cap number next year, so if he flames out or vomits on the field again this weekend, you never know.

"I"'d take that for "our" bench, and that's about all that "I"'ve ever suggested for those guys. (except maybe Camby, and "I" don't remember ever saying that "I" want the Pistons to get Foster)

I just threw up in my mouth.

DC would be my third option of the current Lions QB's after Dan O and Stanton.

DC is washed up. He was never accurate and now he's slow. He'll never be a franchise QB, so why waste any more time that could be spent developing younger QB's...or used with a real franchise QB?

How did you know I was talking about you?

I know you never suggested we get Foster. I was just trying to come up with another guy you talked glowingly about.

"You"'ve only got to deal with "me" for another 1:30 today, so don't sweat it.

defense is cheap, the lions are poor.

Anyone else ever had one of those Deja Vu things?
