Apparently his mother made him do it. He'll be attending Tulsa now.

Denard Robinson, Tajh Boyd, and possibly Kevin Newsome could all be back in the fold now.

Newsome committed to Penn St last week, but as a LB.

Either way, I was of the opinion that Forcier was the better of the two. So it's not that bad of a loss.

If anything, it definitely helps with Devin Gardner, the prized dual-threat Junior from Inkster.

I've been following recruiting off and on for 4 or 5 years and I've never heard of a recruit being told by his mom that he had to go somewhere to school...............it is actually kind of funny.

Tulsa. Nice. Somewhere Gus Frerotte is smiling.

What a joke. Seriously, attending Tulsa hurts your draft stock by at least 4 rounds. Steve Largent is the only player out of Tulsa that anyone remembers - except for Lions fans who loved watching Tracy Scroggins tear it up!

I'm guessing another QB will end up in the fold, but I'm not sure it's necessary. I think the current QB's - though certainly not the answer - started coming around. The competition between them and Forcier should be sufficient for improvement at the position.

This is seriously the strangest recruiting year I ever remember UM having.

At least that's one more queer from Texas we won't have to worry about getting homesick. What is it with freaking Texans and missing home? Do mothers breastfeed until the child is 25 or what?

That's it, from now on it's only unshaved beavers for me.

I'm shocked and disappointed it took 5 posts to get a shaved beaver comment.

It's not a big deal to me. I think most people believed that Forcier was the better of the two and would have eventually won the job down the road. I agree with Wil, and think we'll be going hard after Devin Gardner now and definitely helps our chances.

bukdow: what do you think of these self-professed "classy" Michigan fans shitting all over a kid when he decides to go elsewhere? When they comit, they're all the greatest thing since the pocket pussy (which most of these guys need to have a chance to get laid), then when they transfer or decommit, they are "queers" or no good anyway (and the ever-cogent Michigan fan knew it all along).

Good stuff, eh?:sirdouche:

The way in which the UM fan does an about face regarding the skill level and need for a de-committed recruit is fairly impressive.

Shitting on the kids? Are you kidding me? All I said was we'll be OK without them because of depth at the position they play. If they want to go somewhere else, fine, I wish them the best.

UM has zero depth at QB.

UM has zero depth at QB.

MSU has zero relevancy, nationally.

Only one QB plays at a time. Tate will be that guy.

My point was that we've now had 3 kids in the past year from Texas that decided Michigan wasn't for them. It always had to do with family things, being homesick, probably a little weather. A 4th, Stonum, has had more than his share of rumors about the same thing. We had a decommit from a Houston kicker as well. Yes, Texas has talent, but I'm ready to say screw it to Texas.

The queer comment was an old throwback to "Texas only has steers and queers" line.

I say pull 8 kids from Florida, 3 from California, 3-4 from North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, 2 from Pennsylvania, 4 from Ohio, 5 from Michigan and you're good.

TO HELL WITH TEXAS

(yes, I realize the Big 12 was dominant this year featuring a number of kids from Texas, but screw them anyhow)

who cares about the de-commits from Texas, in the future if a kid from Texas wants to come here, than let him...

Mallett had a fair excuse

McGuffie is just mentally unstable and comes from a broken home

Beaver, well he had his own reasons, at least he didn't enroll and then leave like the other two...

If we can land his brother Trim, we'll be fine.

Yes, turn your back on 300 division 1 kids every year, Jethro. Funny how Texas kids don't decommitt from shit holes like Nebraska or Columbus.

Every kid is different.

Terrence Robinson's still at Michigan isn't he?

I'm just saying that it seems like more kids from Texas leave UM or decommit than from other states. Sure, we still have Herron, Stonum, Robinson, and Woolfolk. But Mallett, McGuffie, Beaver and now Peace. Distance and climate seem to be factors.
Nebraska and Ohio State. Well, lets see. Both have played against Texas teams the past few years, both are slightly closer than Ann Arbor, with slightly (though ONLY slightly) better climates.

I wouldn't put too much stock into it, Jethro. Texas is Fred Jackson's territory, and God knows he's a damn good recruiter.

Other than Peace (who wasn't a big loss), all those other kids had legitimate reasons to leave Michigan.

Besides, the cream of the crop never leave the state anyway, so it's not like Um missing out to the point where it literally hinders the growth of the program
