What do you college hoops guys think about his pro potential? He looks like a beast, and Ford thinks he could possibly go as high as #2 in the draft.

View Full Version : Hasheem Thabeet Glenn 12-05-2008, 09:46 AM What do you college hoops guys think about his pro potential? He looks like a beast, and Ford thinks he could possibly go as high as #2 in the draft. Hermy 12-05-2008, 09:53 AM He's always looked slow as hell to me, walks with a broken gate. Guys that big are tough to find though, so top 10 is certainly the presumed spot. WTFchris 12-05-2008, 10:03 AM His numbers are decent at 14.5 PPG, 12.5 RPG and 4 BPG. However, they've played a bunch of cupcakes for the most part. I'd like to see him going against that punk from UNC head to head. Yeah, he'll be a top 5 pick with those numbers and that size. I'm sure he'll be a pretty good yet not dominant center (like Oden will be). D's Nuts 12-06-2008, 04:00 PM Hibbert did pretty well in college and I think Thabeet is pretty similar. Hibbert was drated 17th and then traded to the Pacers. Currently averaging 3.7 pts and 3.9 boards. All that being said, I would think Thabeet would do better. bardthebambino 12-06-2008, 05:34 PM yeah, thabeet is a lot more athletic than Hibbert...Hibbert was your typical "I'm taller than anyone on your team so I will score easily" college player that isn't very good in the NBA (see Eric Montross and Shaun Bradley). I think Thabeet has a chance to be a Marcus Camby type...his offensive game isn't very good. Jethro34 12-06-2008, 07:51 PM Hibbert was better a year before. He actually played well against Oden, who was dominant at the NCAA level. Hibbert decided to stick around another year and actually hurt his draft stock a lot. I think Thabeet will look very good on Feb 7 against Zack Gibson. WTFchris 12-07-2008, 11:02 PM yeah, thabeet is a lot more athletic than Hibbert...Hibbert was your typical "I'm taller than anyone on your team so I will score easily" college player that isn't very good in the NBA (see Eric Montross and Shaun Bradley). I think Thabeet has a chance to be a Marcus Camby type...his offensive game isn't very good. Yeah, Camby is probably a decent comparison. He has enough quickness to block some shots and rebound. Hibbert is more of just a space filler. Maybe more like Dalembert. Camby could score in college and although it's wierd looking he makes a lot of jumpers. Glenn 01-31-2009, 07:06 PM Triple double today, including 10 blocks DrRay11 02-04-2009, 01:21 PM From the little I've seen of him, so take this with a grain of salt, Thabeet reminds me a little of Tyson Chandler, with a little less athleticism. They can do the same things on the floor... Darth Thanatos 02-14-2009, 11:06 PM 25/20/9 tonight against Seton Hall. DrRay hit the ball on the head. I think he'll need a really good point guard to make his offensive game look better. Timone 02-16-2009, 08:58 PM Got his ass handed to him by Blair. Tahoe 02-16-2009, 08:58 PM Blair is a manchild Tahoe 02-16-2009, 08:59 PM The kind of player the Pistons need Tahoe 02-16-2009, 08:59 PM And I mean that seriously Tahoe 02-16-2009, 08:59 PM How am I doin Denny? Tahoe 02-16-2009, 08:59 PM Inside toughness is what Blair is all about Tahoe 02-16-2009, 09:00 PM Ok, I'm done now. Timone 02-16-2009, 09:01 PM I might just sit back and lay low for a while and let you try to make a game of this. Tahoe 02-16-2009, 09:03 PM I might start talkin mess if I'm in the lead w/ Pacas and posts. Glenn 02-27-2009, 01:45 PM Whichever team drafts him also gets a free built-in marketing slogan. -_1BGKNk85M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_1BGKNk85M Darth Thanatos 02-27-2009, 10:23 PM The kind of player the Pistons need I'll pass on Corliss 2.0. Tahoe 02-27-2009, 10:32 PM Not a bad comparison...but Blair is almost 20 more pounds of muscle. I liked Corlis' heart and game early on. But I'd say Blair is more of an Elton Brand. Tahoe 02-27-2009, 10:36 PM They both averaged similar ppg, but CW had about 7 RPG, while Blair is at almost 13 RPG. Big dif there. Glenn 03-10-2009, 01:58 PM Dan (Boston): Is Hasheem Thabeet really a lottery pick? He seems like the classic big man with loads of potential, but little NBA talent. Bust of the 2009 draft? :chad: Chad Ford: (1:43 PM ET ) Personally, I lean toward bust. But most NBA guys disagree. He's 7-foot-3 and can block shots at a very high level. Someone will draft him just for that. Fool 03-10-2009, 02:00 PM I thought that dude left to be a professor in Hawaii. Tahoe 03-10-2009, 02:06 PM Blair owned HT in the first game. At least HT showed up in the 2nd game. He needs to develop a mean streak to match his size and he'd be a lock at a lottery pick. Hermy 03-10-2009, 02:35 PM He needs to develop a mean streak to match his size and he'd be a lock at a lottery pick. He can show up with daisies in his hair, he's a lottery lock. Tahoe 03-10-2009, 04:23 PM ^ Yep, you are right. I should have said number 1 overall? Hermy 03-10-2009, 05:09 PM ^ Yep, you are right. I should have said number 1 overall? 2. Tahoe 03-11-2009, 08:23 PM ^ Break it down fer me, Herm. MoTown 03-12-2009, 08:18 AM Blake Griffin will go before him. That's the only guarantee. |
