I'm not too enlightened about the currency of ninjas, but I've heard they're not really fans of alpacas. They do accept MoTowns, however.

Man in ‘ninja-like’ outfit robs Berkley bank

BERKLEY — An armed suspect robbed the Charter One Bank in Berkley on Sept. 3 dressed in a very peculiar outfit.

According to Sandra Berchtold, a special agent and media coordinator for the FBI Detroit Field Office, “He was wearing a black shirt, black pants and had a black cloth across his face. He was also wearing gloves and carrying a backpack. Some described him as looking like a ninja.”

The suspect — described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a thin build — entered the bank, located at 27897 Woodward Ave., at around 10:45 a.m., pulled out a handgun and told a teller to give him money. After leaving with an undisclosed amount, he drove off in a dark-colored, late-1990s-model Ford Taurus. No bank employees or customers were hurt during the robbery.

Berchtold said that the robber matches the description of a suspect in the attempted robbery of a Chase Bank in Dearborn Heights on Aug. 28. In that particular incident, however, the man arrived before the bank had opened, and employees refused to let him inside.

The FBI is continuing to investigate the case and is seeking the public’s help in identifying the robber. Anyone with information should contact the FBI at (313) 965-2323 or Crime Stoppers at (800) SPEAK-UP.
