The last two World Series have turned out to set record low ratings. I'd expect this one to be the lowest.

Ugh, I fucked up the thread name, it should be Rays Vs. Phillies

This should be the OGT for games 3 and 4 (5 too, if necessary).

It's so nice to have two teams that I actually like in the World Series.

It's kind of a weird feeling.

Yeah. I want the Rays to win but I wouldn't be unhappy with the Phillies either.

Too bad no one in Florida will be tuning in.

Damn that was some impressive pitching down the stretch for both sides.

Just like the Tigs

This is a problem with all sports but last night just pissed me off. Why, especially when you have two east coast teams, do these championship games start so damn late? Do they not want kids to watch (you know, your future fan base)? I would love to stay up and help your numbers Fox, but I'm just not staying up that late.

I think we should just dump the West Coast.

I can't believe Carlos Pena is playing in the World Series. He sucked so much ass here.

Chad Durbin is on the Phillies too, btw.

It has been hard to see Pena play as well as he has this year, but we are not the only ones to have given up on him........now Durbin, that is another story

Was game one last night?

Guess I was too busy watching the National Bass Fishing Championship on the Oxygen Network.

^ See that proves the West Coast doesn't even watch the games. Move game time up to 7:00 or 7:30.

Its totally ridiculous. I think about the kids when games go way past midnight also. Its all about the money and greed is not good.

Kids run this country consumer-wise. Besides, with Tivo they can watch it over breakfast.

well, you can't have it early or you lose all your LA markets for half the game. It's on at 6PM here, which is perfect. if you moved it up any more it would be on while people are still at work on the West coast. Then you have kids watching it without their parent (which is not family oriented at all).

Yeah, they are both east teams, but the World Series is a national event. Look at the NCAA championship. That thing doesn't start until like 9pm.

MoTown

But wouldn't you rather catch the end of an event, instead of the beginning? I would think many fans turn the game off and go to bed before 11:15 or 11:30pm.

I would love listening to a World Series game driving home from work. What percentage of West Coast people even watch sports?

WTFchris

I'd rather miss the beginning, unless it's a blowout (then the ending is boring). But people have the choice to stay up and watch the game too (but maybe don't have the option to leave work early). I remember that being a pain whenever the Wings played the Ducks, Sharks, etc.

They moved MNF up for you, what more do you want!

I'm just saying the West Coast has it made (at least for me). I get up early and go to bed early, even on the weekends. So College Football at 9am would be a dream scenario.

I mean think of it this way for a Saturday:
9am: College Football game
12pm: More games
4pm: A new set of games
7:30pm: West Coast games

Asleep by 10:30 after not having missed a game.

It is nice on mountain time. Saturday has games at 10 AM and 1:30 PM. Sunday has NFL at 11am and 2pm. all the Wings and Pistons games that are on are at 5:30 and are done by 8. I love it. Unfortunately you get the shaft on other programming at times. most shows are on an hour earlier, so it's hard to keep track of when things are on unless it's something you watch every week. Local programming gets axed too a lot because something like the World Series is on live at 6 PM and everything for the evening on Fox is not on. Whereas on the East coast you'll have your normal programming (at least a portion).

Sometimes it's far better, sometimes you get the shaft.

It's definately better out here, imo and on Sundays too. Sunday's games come on at 10, 1:15 and then the late game. Works for me.

Chalk one up for the old man last night.

This was a game Philly was NOT supposed to win according to the talking heads.

I've watched about 15 minutes of this, total.

MoTown

It starts too late. I know some disagree (Chris), but normal people go to bed around 10:30 or 11:00. So if you can't watch the whole game, why even watch any of it?

These are two Eastern Time Zone teams, so you should cater to their needs first. I would have no problem with games starting at 6 or 7 PST if the teams were in the West.

Money hungry, greedy baseball higher ups are now flirting with having a baseball game in November. Amazing!

Shorten the season a lil bit or something, since you've gone to 7 game playoff series.
