I will definitely get call of duty and would've gotten fable 2 had i not traded in my xbox...

Socom will probably be the next game I grab, then dead space and 2k9. Not sold on Saints Row though.

The three must-buys for me are 2K9, Fable II and Mirror's Edge, though I'd like it a lot better if Fable was out for a different system. I don't want to get a 360 for one game this holiday season. I'll probably just wait for it to come out on PC.

Kings Bounty was the first game I ever played at someone else's house. My brother made computers when I was a kid. This was back in the Commodore 64/ original Amiga days so when I say he made computers, I'm not talking about going to the component store and buying the motherboard, video card, sound card, RAM, hard drive, and a stylin' case and putting them together like I did with my graduation money to have a computer for college. I'm talking about sodering irons, cables, work benches, and stealing chips out of calculators kind of made. Anyway, so I played a ton of computer games growing up because the Commodore was all about pirated games, but Kings Bounty was the first game I ever knew that I couldn't own. It played on my buddy's Apple. We didn't have an Apple (well we did but my other brother blew it up by hooking it up wrong, this was back when cords weren't propriatery and you could get things to fit together even if they didn't go together). So Kings Bounty was the first game I was ever jealous of someone over. I used to spend the night over the dude's house and play that shit all night long.

I remember playing some primitive role playing games on a friend's computer that involved a cassette player. That's kind of fucked up if I think back on it now. Must have been 1982-ish?

Grabbed Socom today and I love it. If Socom 2 was your favorite, you'll appreciate the attention to keeping the feel of that particular socom.

Its not out until today or tomorrow i think. Imma try to buy if i can...You gotta watch the prequel comics(done with solid voice acting over comic art) to get a taste of its very interesting plot. Very event horizon meets aliens and john carpenters the Thing.

you ever played part 3? Its still the best wwII shooter out there(maybe ever) imo until COD5 hits. COD3 is an underestimated classic in my book.

Played COD3 and I thought it was so/so. Just my ten cents.

Question for all of you COD fans:

I've never played any of the COD games, but my brother is huge into them. How can you make 5 or so COD games and still have it be fresh? Aren't you guys sick of shooting the same Nazis over and over again with weapons that are 60 years old?

Different teams work on the game... Infinity Ward did 2, Treyarch did 3, Infinity Ward did 4, and Treyarch did 5. I'm not sure who decides what material is in the game, though...

Actually its gaining steam again with co-op coming to COD and R2 hopefully.

Also i got into the Resistance 2 beta, and its pretty damn fun.

Also online is meant for playing with friends too. Especially when ya'll lives lead to you all living in separate areas far away. I think Developers still dont want to do it, so some lie and say its not popular. The reality is that its more work to do a high def splitscreen game.

Rather that split-screen you just have your friend bring his box over, carry an extra TV into the living room and play that way.


As far as COD goes, I've been wondering about that too. I tire of shooting games that are too technical, I'm more of a blow-shit-up-Quake fan. It's been recommended to me a few times though considering I'm looking for games.

First post on the new rig. So far, I cannot make a game lag at any recockulous graphics settings. I think I'm going to delve into The Witcher. I've been looking for a good RPG that isn't quite as involved as Oblivion, and my old PC couldn't even run The Witcher so I didn't bother getting it. Got it today, looks fun.

Add Fallout 3 to my list, was reading up on it today and apparently it's Oblivion but with guns and after armageddon. It got a 10/10 in the Xbox Magazine. Sick.

I know. Sounds pretty Resident Evilish and I'm hearing great things about it. You going to get SOCOM? Felsing is relentlessly hyping this game to me. It's 60 bucks and you get a bluetooth headset with it.

Gutz was right, October and November are a bitch. Not sure how I'm going to explain to the wife that I bought 10+ video games in 2 months.

Oh yea the headset is worth the extra 20 dollars(it'll be 50 dollars when its eventually sold separately). Best Headset in gaming i've ever used.

Yessir! It's amazing, much better than having a freaking cord in the way all the time. SOCOM is pretty sweet, but the servers are still pretty jacked. It froze up on me twice. When I was actually playing I was loving it though.

I also picked up Fable II and played for about an hour last night. I'm still running around doing whack errands as a pre-teen, but even that was pretty fun.

I'm starting to agree with the OP more on this topic. Now that I'm actually back in the game market there's just too much coming out right now.

On the fence about fallout 3. May just wait. Main problem is that I must get R2

Fallout 3 has been pretty highly praised, from what I've seen.

So has R2, and I enjoyed the BETA for R2. But Fallout has been looking solid so far in reviews. I wish they put out a demo.

If I had the money right now, I would consider bying a PS3 just for R2. That series looks great.

Fable II is amazing. Played the other day for 3 hours and most of the time I was just wandering around looking for treasure, working a job for gold, gambling, and customizing my character. The gameplays is sweet too. Love the combo of a sword, a loud ass pistol, and magic.

almost forgot to say, Sony has its own Mario now. Little Big Planet is that deal. Definitely a true game for everyone.

The first Fable (TLC, was the first for PC) was awesome. I've had the second one circled for some time now.

Anyone have either NBA Live 09 or NBA 2K9?

I want to get one and normally it would be an easy choice, the 2K series. However this year 2K has no college game which is a big deal for me. I love playing both and exporting my draft classes. I wanna know if Live is playable enough to buy and I can't tell playing both demos.

I played through the Star Wars game, Force Unleashed, and was VERY impressed. If you are into Star Wars on any level, the storyline really adds to what you know from the movie.

I have 2k9. After being stuck with Live being the only option for years, and thankfully not buying the last 3 years, I'm pretty happy with 2k.

I also bought Infinite Undiscovery and I've had a ball with the awesome fighting system. I'm in the bonus dungeon(Seraphic Gate) as I speak. I'll probably buy Last Remnant and that'll be it for me until........I don't know, maybe FF13.
