What you are looking at, ladies and gents, is what we at A Hamburger Today are calling the Hamburger Fatty Melt. Lemme give you the smack on this meat stack. From top to bottom:

Grilled cheese sandwich as bun top
Four-ounce beef patty
Grilled cheese sandwich as bottom bunGot that? It's a burger with two grilled cheese sandwiches as its bun.

I'm torn here.

Part of me says, "Hell, no" and part of me says, "Hell, yes".

I'd try it for sure. I might like it, might not....but I'd give it a try.

Anybody had the Guacamole burger at Chili's (I think it's there)? It's in a pita which is different, but good.

The wife and I were at a Brann's last weekend (not sure if they have those in Detroit or not) but they had a burger on their menu that had 2 to 3 mozzerella cheese sticks on top of it.

My immediate reaction was, "Why?" but as I thought more about it, it sounded more appealing. Maybe next time.

They both sound like heart attacks waiting to happen. I probably wouldn't buy one because my stomach would probably hate me after. but if you gave me a sample I'd try it.

A 4 ounce patty's not big enough. I'm not saying I necessarily want the sandwich as a whole to be bigger, but as is, that's too much grilled cheese, not enough burger. I'd rather it have a half pound patty and then eat half the sandwich than as is.

Did you read the comments under it? This was a similar but larger scale one mentioned with fried egg and texas toast grilled cheese:

I make one with a fried egg, onion rings, and French Fries with melted cheddar affixing them to the bun.

Eating that thing would make me feel like shit.

Seconded. I would have maybe two bites of it, but I would rather just skip it altogether to avoid how shitty I would feel for at least 24 hours.

It looks fantastic but I'm not sure I could eat it.

I was thinking about making one at home, but it seems like too much work (and too many dishes).

That's the kind of meal that would lead to a glorious, well-oiled dump. I'm calling it a win.

I don't consider a well oiled dump a win. Nothing worse than going thru a who roll of TP (especially the cheap shit in public bathrooms).
