Well, Ringer`s guady rushing numbers will end this week. Hoyer is going to have to play well. Iowa`s D-line is very good and will force the passing game to win the game for MSU.
Iowa is similar to MSU in its effectiveness in running the ball. However, Iowa`s passing game is less than sufficient to establish balance. Its going to be a tough game, and one Ringer should not be given the ball 40 times because Iowa will be going after him hard. But, MSU`s offense is more balanced and will carry the day. MSU 23 Iowa 17.

I dont think Iowa cant put up 17 against us. We played very well last week albeit for 2 long pass plays. MSU comes to play hard today on Homecoming and wins with authority. Statement game for MSU to prove we are no longer the "same old Spartans."
Bring the wood, bring the pain, bring it ON!
MSU 35 Iowa 10

Ugly win but still a W. MSU turning the corner I believe........... either that or we are horrible but playing our "A" game against everyone.

Ugly wins are wins indeed. Well done to get to 5-1. Can't say I'm not jealous.
Also, boneheaded coaching job by Ferentz.

Good win for MSU, but Hoyer will stop the Spartans from W's against OSU, Penn St. and maybe others. Have to give Iowa credit, they ran all over MSU, but their QB sucks worse than Hoyer.

Yeah, we also need the WRs to stop having cases of the dropsees. By my count at least 5-7 open WRs had drops the past 2 games, probably more.
I appreciate Hoyer for what he is and that's not saying much. Looking forward to Air Nichol for the next few years.

Better hope that arm healed up.

A good. gutsy win. However, if Hoyer does not play better and consistently better, MSU will lose games like this against more balanced teams.
Make no mistake, Iowa is a good defensive team and they lay the lumber, but the offense is fairly one-dimensional.
The lack of TDs in the red zone is also a concern. However, I believe this again goes back to Hoyer`s inconsistent play.
A win is a win, but this game left as many questions as answers.

I'd rather have Hoyer than Threet. Just saying.

I'd rather have Woody Dantzler than both of them.
