Balfour is a beast man. He was actually DFA'ed back in April and nobody claimed him, and when the Rays purchased his contract again, he became one of the top relief pitchers in baesball.

Go figure.

Dodgers are looking great, even moreso now with Furcal. ManRam and Blake have made the other young guys(Ethier, Martin) look better at the plate and have taken pressure off the pitching staff. They'll catwalk to the World Series.

Hopefully the Angels can get off the schnide tonight.

Would anyone else feel sad that if the Rays won? That would mean they have more championships that the Tigers in the last 25 years. Which would mean 3 of the last 4 expansion teams have won more World Series than the Tigers in the last 25 years.

I had to find someone to root for since the Tigers just barely missed out on a playoff birth at the very last second after having such a terrific season that completely surpassed all expectations and was almost considered miraculous and flawless. I can't believe their pitching carried them so well.

I'm rooting for the Rays because I want the Red Sox to go away. The story lines are old and stale for me. It's the same reason I want the Phillies over the Dodgers. I'm tired of hearing about Manny. Torre has enough success. Philly and Tampa sounds good to me.

The Rays put up 6 runs on Wakefield in two innings less than a month ago. He also had a 6.65 ERA in September as well. The Rays have a real opportunity to take a hold of this series.

Anybody else findthese MLB playoffs to be incredibly boring? Last year I enjoyed watching the Tribe self-destruct, and the Rockies we're a nice 'feel-good' story. But this year, there's nothing.

The whole "Tampa Bay Rays" thing is cute and all, but the wow factor of their sucess got played-out by ESPN before August.

As dumb as it may sound, they need to expand the playoffs. Let more teams in, sell more tickets, end the season two weeks earlier and create some more 'drama' or 'intrigue' in playoff baseball.
