Sunday, Sept. 28, TBA
Current line: BYE by 3.5
I think Stanton is starting due to Kitna's sprained knee. I would hate to see Orlovsky continue to get PT.
Glenn 09-23-2008, 09:33 AM Poll?
MoTown 09-23-2008, 09:34 AM Good call.
WTFchris 09-23-2008, 10:05 AM Nice thread. What are the chances Stanton pulls out a win this week and gets another start next week?
MoTown 09-23-2008, 10:06 AM Good question. You'll have to tune in on Sunday to find out!!!!!
Glenn 09-23-2008, 10:08 AM I believe in this Sunday.
WTFchris 09-23-2008, 10:09 AM The Lions are guaranteed to climb out of last place this Sunday with a Browns or Bengals loss!!!!
MoTown 09-23-2008, 10:26 AM Questions for this week:
- Can Detroit's offense function without Kitna at the helm?
- Can the offense move the ball against a struggling BYE defense?
- Will BYE shove the ball down the Lions' collective throats?
- While we know BYE will have 21 points at halftime, how many points will the Lions have?
WTFchris 09-23-2008, 10:45 AM What's the injury report on BYE?
MoTown 09-23-2008, 10:47 AM Pretty healthy. They have a backup Tight End on the IR and a DT that's limping, but the rest of the team has held up so far.
MoTown 09-23-2008, 10:48 AM I only wish the Lions could play BYE for the rest of the year. Or at least move BYE into their division.
WTFchris 09-23-2008, 10:57 AM Would other teams be mad to have BYE removed from their schedules?
MoTown 09-23-2008, 11:03 AM Maybe the players, but not the fans. And this is a fan's league. Most teams look forward to BYE, but the fans get tired of it. If the fans ruled the NFL, the Lions would play BYE every week of every year. At least until Millen is fired.
Glenn 09-24-2008, 07:53 AM BYE is now favored by 4.5, fwiw
OGT stickied.
WTFchris 09-24-2008, 10:40 AM BYE has gone undefeated since 1990. I can't believe BYE got the shaft on the news coverage last year when the Patriots were undefeated. They even had to play each team twice in 1993. That's heroic.
MoTown 09-24-2008, 10:42 AM I think the Lions have a chance at rallying now without Millen. It should bring extra emotions to the game.
We'll have to watch if the line changes again before Sunday.
Remember when the Lions used to get injuries during the Bye week?
Best bye week EVER.

Do we stop playing Bye now?
MoTown 09-24-2008, 01:16 PM No we have a contract with BYE. We have to keep playing them until that contract is up. But now that Millen is gone, we don't have to renew the contract.

You think the Lions can end an 18 year unbeaten streak by BYE? I think you are seriously overestimating the value of emotion.
MoTown 09-24-2008, 01:50 PM I believe in now.
MoTown 09-26-2008, 12:10 PM Unless the Lions pull out the win against BYE, I really think there is a chance that the Lions could go 0-16 this year. Looking at the schedule, every team that they play outside of Houston is a lot better than them. They really could do it this year.
Wilfredo Ledezma 09-28-2008, 08:58 AM local blackout...damnit
Vinny 09-28-2008, 11:01 AM Bye's QB just got suspended. This one could be ugly.
Glenn 09-28-2008, 11:18 AM Up to 5.5
MoTown 09-28-2008, 11:32 AM Even with the QB out???
Damn.

You know how Jim Rome always has a team he roots to go 0-16 every year. We're not even his team this year. Rams made it.
MoTown 09-28-2008, 08:17 PM Good pass. Johnson getting a lot of YACs.
If this can continue, we can come back from the early lead.
7-0 BYE.
Zekyl 09-28-2008, 08:34 PM Anyone know the final score?
Tahoe 09-28-2008, 08:45 PM ^ You choose...
It was postponed cuz of the financial crisis.
They decided to just play a virtual game Lions vs Bye.
I'm too tired to go on and I'm not funny anyway...
MoTown 09-29-2008, 08:40 AM I turned it off when it was 21-0 BYE at halftime.
I'll have to check Sportscenter for the highlights.
Glenn 09-29-2008, 12:07 PM With the next post in this thread, this will be the biggest OGT of the year.
MoTown 09-29-2008, 01:05 PM I can't believe that BYE's backup QB could dominate the Lions secondary like he did. Millen should look at signing him in the offseason.
Zekyl 09-29-2008, 02:57 PM I can't believe that BYE's backup QB could dominate the Lions secondary like he did. Millen should look at signing him in the offseason.
And that's the post that puts us over the top. Love it.
WTFchris 10-03-2008, 01:05 PM So did we end BYE's streak!?!?
MoTown 10-03-2008, 01:10 PM Nope. Lions came back hard in the second half. It was a 21-0 halftime lead for BYE, Sims forced, recover and returned a fumble for a touchdown. Kitna played great until the last 5 minutes when he proceeded to throw 6 interceptions in 1 minute and 13 seconds. BYE 54, Lions 17.
WTFchris 10-03-2008, 01:12 PM Man, we didn't even beat the spread.
FIRE MILLEN!
