4 killed, 2 injured in crash in S.C.

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Officials say a Learjet has crashed while departing from a Columbia, S.C., airport, killing four people on board and injuring two others.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks. She says the plane went off the runway and crashed on a nearby road.
The FAA says Blink 182 (former) drummer Travis Barker was on the plane and survived.
Bergen says the Lear 60 was headed to Van Nuys, Calif.

MSNBC says that there is speculation that other musicians may be among the dead, but nothing is confirmed yet.

I did some poking around because I was curious, and found this about the show they played last night.
I wonder if Perry Farrell was on the plane? The plane was heading to Hollywood (Van Nuys).
I'm not familiar with Gavin DeGraw.

WHAT: To celebrate the launch of T-Mobile® in South Carolina, T-Mobile is giving back to the community by hosting T-Mobile Boulevard, a free concert event on the streets of Five Points. T-Mobile will bring Columbia special live performances by Gavin DeGraw and Perry Farrell, with an opening show by TRVSDJ-AM (Travis Barker and DJ AM) on an outdoor stage built on Greene Street at Harden. Thousands are expected to turn out for this celebration, which will be one of the biggest events of the year!
At T-Mobile Boulevard, attendees will be introduced to T-Mobile as they enjoy music spun by DJ Steve Aoki, mingle and socialize. In honor of joining the South Carolina community, T-Mobile will present Mayor Bob Coble with a donation of $12,500 for the city of Columbia to as well as a donation of $12,500 to the Five Points Association.
The one-night only concert will be kicked off by a rocking set by Perry Farrell, of Jane’s Addiction and Porno for Pyros fame. The night will be capped off with a not-to-be missed live set by platinum-selling artist Gavin DeGraw.

Why live it up on a lear jet if the bitch is gonna crash anyways? This better not have been another heavy luggage issue.
Barker is the only good member of that terrible band.

Coroner: Smoke, fire killed crew in SC jet crash

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. – A South Carolina coroner says a pilot and co-pilot killed in a Learjet crash died from smoke inhalation and burns, and two passengers were killed by impact-related injuries.
Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman released the information Monday, about two days after the plane crashed while trying to take off at a Columbia, S.C., airport.
Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and celebrity disc jockey DJ AM were critically injured in the Friday night crash but are expected to recover.
Pilot Sarah Lemmon and co-pilot James Bland were killed along with were Chris Baker and Charles Still, who worked for the musicians.
Federal officials said Sunday that the crew thought a tire blew and tried to abort the takeoff but couldn't stop the plane.
