View Full Version : Roh to Michigan Zip Goshboots 09-18-2008, 06:53 PM It's a done deal! Jethro34 09-18-2008, 07:34 PM ESPN.com via Scout.com ESPN interview (with some paraphrasing): He's said didn't like recruiting. Why? "Because it got in the way a little bit of getting ready for football ... lifting weights in the summer ... and concentrating on academics." Drum roll ... "I'm going to be committing to the University of Michigan. Go Blue!" He had only one official visit in the bag ... why did he pull trigger? "I just knew in my heart the this is where I can maximize my potential, physically, mentally. On Coach Rod: "He's just really a guy that I could go into his office and talk to about anything ... he's a guys I'd hang out with on a Friday night." On where he'll play: "He wants me to play weakside defensive end .. he says if I'm ready to play, I'll play." They pushed on him on U-M decommits ... any chance of decommitting? "If anything big doesn't happen, like a coaching change ... I'm a Wolverine!" They pushed on him about the Utah game .. he said: "They have some things to work on .. but this is Rodriguez's first year ... he needs to get his recruits in ..." "If this happened a few years down the road, I would think more about it." "He gets a year or two." A guy he would hang out with on a Friday night? Maybe he got down with Rita, eh? Joking aside, what a difference a week makes. Going from DE being a huge weakness to a position of strength - potentially. They'll be young next year, especially if Graham leaves for the NFL, but there could be some 3-4 year starters getting their careers going next season. Jethro34 09-18-2008, 07:51 PM By the way, this is the 2nd top 10 DE (rivals has Roh as the #WDE, Lalota as the #6 SDE) to commit since Big Will opened up his recruitment. When he opened it up it looked like the team might be weak around him on the line - with the exception of Mike Martin, and maybe Van Bergen. How much do you think the additions to the line will impact his potential decision to follow through with his original commitment? Wilfredo Ledezma 09-18-2008, 11:34 PM ppl on the scout boards seem to think Wills a lock to come back... they say Teric and Cissoko push him day after day to come back and they're not going to take no for an answer...and if Mich lands that safety from Cass Tech, he could be a lock to come back... FillyCheezeSteak 09-18-2008, 11:38 PM 2 White Tall Defensive Ends for the next 4 years.............things really are changing at Michigan. Wilfredo Ledezma 09-19-2008, 08:48 AM Roh's dad said that Nick Perry being able to sort out his eligibility issues and stay at USC was a huge factor in him not picking the Trojans... Zip Goshboots 09-19-2008, 10:08 AM Roh's dad said that Nick Perry being able to sort out his eligibility issues and stay at USC was a huge factor in him not picking the Trojans... I think that's bullshit. Either from him, or the guy who relayed that on Scout. Perry will be an outside linebacker, according to someone else there. All in all, Roh has strong family ties to Michigan and he and his family vacation there every year. This has probably been his destination for awhile, he just had to feel comfy with the new staff. Moodini31 09-19-2008, 07:41 PM 2 White Tall Defensive Ends for the next 4 years.............things really are changing at Michigan. Two tall white ass D ends, a black ass quarterback and white RB. Super wierd. Lloyd Carr's head is exploding. Jethro34 09-19-2008, 09:13 PM I think that's bullshit. Either from him, or the guy who relayed that on Scout. This has probably been his destination for awhile, he just had to feel comfy with the new staff. I tend to disagree a bit. First, I would never call the kid's dad a liar. 2nd, the kid grew up in Arizona, USC is absolutely going to be in the conversation. Yes, Roh's ties to the state helped a great deal. It kept UM as a possibility all the way. It was always a conclusion that UM would be in his top 5, but the lure of USC is something we lose to more often than we overcome. If Perry hadn't have worked out for them and that glaring possibility for PT was still there, it would have been much more difficult for us to overcome. But with Perry locking that spot up for essentially the same term as Roh's eligibility, UM looked far better. Wilfredo Ledezma 09-20-2008, 10:30 AM I think he camped at USC too...but I'm not positive on that... |
