Well, I tell you what I DON'T do. I don't sign more washed up defenders from Tampa Bay. They've helped us giver up more points than anyone else. Outside of the Rams, whose defense is a field goal better, no one else is even within two TD's of us.

After that, I take the best LT. Yep, I know we have Backus with franchise money and we just drafted a tackle, but we barely have over 110 yards rushing through two games and Kitna has been sacked 8 times. I go QB in the 2nd round, the top interior lineman wherever he projects (even if it's a 1/2 round reach) and then defense with ALL the remaining picks.

I don't think Tebow will translate into a productive NFL QB, personally I think Matt Stafford and Sam Bradford would make better QB picks than Tebow...

But I wouldn't draft a QB with the first pick, I would draft Michael Oher from Ole Miss...

Well, I haven't looked at any projections (they don't do much good now anyway), but these are big needs IMO:

DL - any playmaker there. Must play all downs, no specialists
LB - need to know more about Dizon as to which position needed
OL- need help everywhere here.

Don't doubt the Lions. How long have you been a fan? How many times have you said "They can't possibly do that again." And how many times have you been wrong?

If the Lions are winless until those last five games, you know they'll destroy those teams, getting our hopes up and dashing our chances at getting a high draft pick.

Trade down to where you can still get the first OLine in the draft. Make your best deal and move on.

Monroe is the OL - I think he's top talent in the draft so far.

I say go with Lauranitis. Defenses are built through the D-Line and LBs. Seeing him with Sims would be the start to a nice defense.

yeah. Lauranitis is a tackling machine and an expert at reading defenses. He would definately stay at MLB. Dizon is faster and more athletic so he'd move to strong side. I think that would be really solid. I wouldn't take Lauranitis #1 overall, but I'd rather have him (even in a trade down if need be) than a OT. I'm tired of investing high picks in the offense to see them wasted by bad play calling. We need a solid defense that creates turn overs so our offense isn't playing from behind all the time.

An offensive player is never worth a 1st round pick in my eyes. I like the Ravens approach of almost always drafting a D player in the 1st round. They're always competitive, regardless of the O.

I'd pick James Laurinitis by the way. He's the most intelligent LB I've seen come out since Zack Thomas. And he's a great open field tackler, which is always a bonus in today's talent depleted NFL.

But he's also the son of Road Warrior Animal, one of the best tag teams ever!

I don't pay enough attention to College, is there a dominant, top 5 end out there? If we take a corner or a running back or something I might puke. DE, OT or linebacker is all I'll accept, preferably one of the first 2. At the top of the second we should be able to get a good player too.

I don't even want to think about a QB until the rest of the team is ready. Good QB prospects can be ruined playing for bad teams, and we're still at least 2 offseasons away from not being a bad team.

Also, if Paris Lenon is still wearing a Lions uniform next year I give up. I'm tired of settling for mediocrity.

I don't mind him playing a limited role and playing special teams. That's what he's good at and that's what we originally brought him here for. If he's getting more than a handful of snaps on defense we have a problem.

Sorry, but ever since the Dallas game last year, I refuse. His head's in the wrong place. If you've got a borderline talented enough guy, he sure as hell better be falling on that ball with a win in hand with 2 minutes to go.
