Did you ever think the universe is just one big giant person, where galaxies are cells, and solar systems are atoms? I thought about that when i read one of Tahoe's posts.

I read one of MoTown's posts while on the toilet. But I didn't have my computer with me.

I got sick of Glenn's name, so I reversed it to Nnelg, and then I YouTubed it. Suddenly, he's more interesting.

I just don't get time at all.

There's a magical elf, and he moves really fast, see? And at 1 second to midnight, he puts 2 beans in a pot and takes 1 back out.

Then, at 1/2 second to midnight, he puts 2 beans in a pot and takes 1 back out. Now there are 2 beans total in the pot.

Then, at 1/4 second to midnight, he puts 2 beans in a pot and takes 1 back out. Now there are 3 beans total in the pot.

He keeps going like this...1/8 second, 1/16 second, 1/32 second, 1/64 second, etc. Any way we can cut the time in half, that's how fast he does it.

So the question is: when midnight finally strikes, how many beans are in the pot?

The answer is: midnight never comes. If you can keep dividing time into fractions, you never reach any milestones, and no moments actually occur.

But the thing is, that's how our universe appears to work - we can keep carving time into infinitely tiny fragments if we have the technology.

I think something is badly wrong with how we understand the workings of time.
