View Full Version : OGT: MSU vs. FAU
bukdow 09-08-2008, 05:01 PM FAU is probably the mouthiest most deluded team in college football. They claim to be a BCS caliber team. So, they start the season off by challenging Texas` toughness and get stomped 52-10. Then, they come against an overmatched UAB and squeak out a 45-34 victory. After the game, Schnellenburger declares the victory "vindication" while his kickoff returner guarantees FAU will "score a lot of points" against MSU. FAU is the type of team you want to crush and humiliate until they learn some manners.
However, they do have a lot of returning starters from a decent team last year. A decent team for the Sun Belt conference that is. They are smal as hell. The D-Line average 240 lbs. and their LBs are 200 lbs. I expect MSU to run for 200-300 yards and hopefully the defense doesn`t give up big plays.
MSU 45 FAU 17.
Jethro34 09-08-2008, 10:29 PM FAU is horrible. Don't let their record from last year fool you. MSU rolls.
Tahoe 09-08-2008, 10:54 PM wow, I had to look them up. I guess Dantonio is searching for the dubyas.
The Florida Atlantic Owls
Wilfredo Ledezma 09-10-2008, 08:18 PM They claim to be a BCS caliber team.
Well, to be fair, in their school's D1 history, they've been to as many BCS Bowl Games as Michigan St.
Glenn 09-11-2008, 08:34 AM ^spicy
Glenn 09-13-2008, 02:48 PM I tried several times to watch this thing and finally gave up.
Wilfredo Ledezma 09-13-2008, 04:53 PM ^^
I think the crowd felt the same way, from the two minutes I watched in the 2nd quarter, the sky view showed the place to be rather empty...
D's Nuts 09-15-2008, 11:16 AM Yeah the torrential downpour probably had nothing to do with it.
Hopefully good weather this weekend when I make the trip.
F the Irish.

How did Oakland U. do this weekend? Or www.university.com? Did they win their games?
MoTown 09-15-2008, 11:35 AM ^ I'm sorry but that bit is hilarious.
Wilfredo Ledezma 09-15-2008, 01:07 PM How did Oakland U. do this weekend??
They beat Cal.
bukdow 09-15-2008, 02:10 PM They beat Cal.
Weak.
Tahoe 09-15-2008, 02:12 PM Weak.
Good post, man. God damn thats a good god damn post. Good job.

Weaker.
Wilfredo Ledezma 09-15-2008, 03:23 PM bukdow, why are you so proud that you went to a school that had a football team?
A football team that has never been, and will never be, relavant to the national media, or anybody that didn't attend the school.
Not to mention, Walsh College is strictly a business school, so if I wanted to double-major in two areas that require A) nothing and B) no job opportunites, I would've taken the route you selected, and enrolled in Michigan State's history program.
Plus, I'm paying more per credit hour at Walsh, than I would be if I were at State, so before you try and "belittle" my studies as if it we're some Univ of Phoenix, online garbage, take a peek at the numbers first buddy. Walsh's business programs destroy that of MSU's.
Unless I wanted to be a Farmer, a Veternarian, or on an undrafted NFL player, I wouldn't consider attendng Michigan State...
What does a History Degree get you in today's job market?
I thought so...a magazine subscription, and nothing else.

Its not that I am proud I went to a school that had a football team, but rather I use that as an example of your ridiculous behavior regarding yourself and your academic credentials vis a vis those of someone who went to MSU. You like to take childish snipes at everything MSU when, in fact, MSU is superior to every institution you have ever attended or had the opportunity to attend. Which, in all reality, is only in character for a little snot-nosed elitest wannabe, young-republican bag-muncher like yourself.
Wilfredo Ledezma 09-16-2008, 09:31 AM You like to take childish snipes at everything MSU when, in fact, MSU is superior to every institution you have ever attended or had the opportunity to attend.
Walsh College's accounting, finance, and business administration programs are far superior to that of Michigan State's.
No contest.
Glenn 09-16-2008, 09:45 AM I think it's time for some Academic Track.
I'm not sure if anyone else will know what that means.
It might just be a Saginaw thing: h ttp://blog.mlive.com/saginawnews/2008/04/caro_middle_school_wins_big_at.html

Show me where www.university.com`s program ranks higher than MSU`s Eli Broad College of Business, which is year after year, one of the best in the country.
Wilfredo Ledezma 09-16-2008, 12:26 PM www.university.com is getting old now...
face it, outside of the state of Michigan, nobody's ever heard of Walsh College or Michigan State anyway...

Listen, either you show me where Joe Walsh University is ranked higher than MSU`s Eli Broad College of Business or kindly shut up. You dog MSU, which is ranked the 80th best university in the world, while you went to piddling Oakland. Then, you start in with Joe Walsh U. being better than MSU`s business college, which as I have stated, is consistently ranked as one of the top business colleges in the country.
So, you mealy-mouthed little wannabe, either put your money where your mouth is, or return your mouth to its usual position, that being your ass.
By the way, contrary to what you would like to believe, MSU is quite well known outside of not only Michigan, but the US.

I know, you'd think it would be right???
Nice to see Javon Ringer on the Heisman Watch list (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/heisman/index)...
oh wait...
Your just as pathetic of a walking MSU billboard as Mike Valenti is, you both crave for Michigan St to become a national power, a highly regarded athletic force of the mid-west, yet in reality, MSU is viewed as another Northwestern, Minnesota, and Indiana and all the other second-tier Big Ten teams nobody cares about (basically anybody except Ohio St & Michigan)...
reality...hurts...
and if i was raised a MSU fan, i probably would've stopped enjoying college football 5 years ago
your just as pathetic as the delusional Lions fan, except on a much smaller, and more irrelavant scale
Wilfredo Ledezma 09-16-2008, 03:10 PM Mike Valenti after MSU lost to Cal...
"Cal will finish behind USC in the Pac 10"
Really? Just because they beat Michigan St right?? Any neutral fan would've known that Sparty wasn't ever in that game, every single time they cut it to one score, they shit their pants and let Cal score again. Not to mention, if Cal was so good, why we're Arizona St & Oregon ranked in the pre-season polls, and Cal didn't even receive votes. And how in holy fuck if, Cal was so damn good, did they lose to a Maryland team that lost to Middle Tennessee State??
"Jahvid Best is one of the top 4 or 5 RB's in the nation"
Again, are you kidding me?? Jahvid Best was making his first collegiate start and only had 29 carries the previous year before suffering a season-ending hip injury. Hardly a top 20 RB if you ask me...
"Michigan State played well on National TV."
It wasn't on National TV, the Clemson/Alabama game was the prime ABC game of that evening. In fact, if you didn't live in southern Michigan, Northern Indiana & Ohio or California, the game wasn't even available on ABC. "National scene" my ass, you would've drawn higher ratings playing on the Big Ten Network...
MSU = 2nd fiddle
Vinny 09-16-2008, 03:30 PM In all fairness to bukdow, that list has nothing to do with quality of school, quality of education, quality of job opportunities, quality of salary, etc, etc. It's just a list of which schools have the highest percentage of their graduates end up as accountants.
Wilfredo Ledezma 09-16-2008, 05:04 PM It's just a list of which schools have the highest percentage of their graduates end up as accountants.
Well Vinny, wouldn't that speak to the "quality of the accounting program" or the "quality of education" or "quality of job opportunities" of Walsh College.
Since Walsh College is strictly a business college, wouldn't it make more sense that they are much highly regarded in focusing on programs such as business admin, finance, and accounting than a school like Michigan State or Oakland, which offers countless fields of study?
The reason I'm in college, is to be an accountant. And since I didn't have the political connections (or desire to borrow student loans) to attend U of M, I decided to go to Walsh since it will get me to where I want to be, better than any other school.
Put it this way, would you rather have a surgeon who performs surgeries on a variety of procedures, or would you rather have a surgeon who specializes in the type of surgery you need/want?
I don't see how that's so hard to understand, bukdow...
not to mention, I can't take "Introduction to Tax & Business Taxation" or "Government and Not-For-Profit Accounting" at Michigan St, those courses are not even offered there (amongst others MSU doesn't offer, that Walsh does).
Vinny 09-16-2008, 05:15 PM Not necessarily.
Wilfredo Ledezma 09-16-2008, 05:20 PM Not necessarily.
Not in all cases, no. Obviously schools that are more prestigous (Michigan, Stanford, Notre Dame, etc.) are definitely always going to be more highly regarded in all fields altogether, even if it's just because of the name of the institution.
But I'm not talking about those schools, I'm just comparing it to Michigan State. And in the case of Michigan State, Walsh College puts their accounting program to shame.
Even you can't deny that Vinny. Again, I'm not talking about all other schools in the US, I'm just talking about MSU, as bukdow requested.
My courses example already proved that...
Vinny 09-16-2008, 05:24 PM And all I'm saying is that list really offers no evidence to support that claim. It may very well be true, but that list says nothing of the sort, and it's pretty misleading how you show it labelled as "Top Accounting Schools" without presenting the context of the list.

"Accounting Schools"? Missouri Southern State University? Are you kidding me! This "accounting school" you are going to is nothing more than a vocational school or 2 year program at an actual accredited college, at best.
Look, Wilfredo, I realize you ooze with desire to be among the conservative elite in this country, but let me give you a little bit of advice. If you do ever become a professinal, like me, never, and I mean never, brag about your Oakland University and Walsh Accounting School background. Seriously.
LOL@like me.
'Fredo, if you ever become like bukdow do the world a favor and kill yourself.

I laughed.
Does anyone else imagine "Jeff from Richmond" from the Jim Rome show when they read bukky's posts?
I want to hear about his Armani suits and his luxury sled.
