Here's how it's graded:

• Stadium factor (St.): Loud? Great atmosphere?

• Live and die factor (LDF): Fans take loss hard? (That's a good thing.)

• Traveling road show factor (Travel): Big presence in other guys' stadium?

• Loyalty when team sucks (Loyal): You score points with us if you stick with a loser.

• Hate factor (Hate): Other teams' fans dislike your fans? (Hate is good in our book.)

• Tailgate factor (TG): Home tailgates sizzling or stale?

• Home fans' creativity (CF): Wacky ideas … or not?

A rating of 1 is great, 5 the worst.

How the Lions rank:

Stadium Factor: 4
Live and Die Factor: 5
Traveling Road Show Factor: 5
Loyalty: 5
Hate Factor: 5
Tailgate Factor: 4
Home Fans Creativity: 3
Total: 31

Here's the comment for the Lions:

Consecutive sellouts: 20 | Season-ticket waiting list: 2,500

Visit Ford Field in midseason and you feel like you should keep your voice down. That's how quiet it is. Of course, given the Lions' long history of disappointment, it says a lot about the loyalty of those who do come to the games.

ESPN creates a lot of bad lists, but this is up there with the worst. The Lions fans aren't Steelers fans, but dead last??? This is the worst team in the last 50 years, and people still come to games. The Detroit economy is among the worst in the nation, yet they still sell out games. And they rank the loyalty factor a 5? Did this guy even do his homework?

They are about as die hard as it comes really (to go to games without reward). I wouldn't put them at the top, but really they should be in the top 1/3 for the attendance they draw with one of the worst franchises in history.

ESPN is closed-minded when they put crap like this together. Win/Loss and popularity is such a heavy factor into this formula, it's not even funny.

The fact that the Lions have sold out every game since moving into Ford Field is more than enough evidence to suggest how much the people here are craving to see a winning product.

Their criticism on there is the stadium is quiet. I've been to a couple games and it's been pretty loud. The Silverdome was really loud. If you want to mark them down on that score, fine. But how can they give them the worst score on loyalty and when the team sucks? Those should be 1's given their attendance. It's like the sent one blogger to one game (probably us getting blown out) and decided the fan base on one game.

As already pointed out this and ESPN in general is whack.

How are we not loyal? We've never been good but people still show up, people still talk about them. Every year we get a fresh start and are given a small amount of hope that this could be the year, even though it never is. But here we are...

I read the intro and it mentioned that the Cardinals came in last.

Misleading intros rulez.
