Yeah, tons of DARING picks here. Green text?
Glenn 08-25-2008, 02:15 PM Man, you guys are both on the Steelers, I see.
I don't suppose that you've checked out their schedule, have you?
I'll probably pick them in the North, too, but that's just as much wishful thinking as it being realistic.
Wilfredo Ledezma 08-25-2008, 03:01 PM NFC East: Dallas Cowboys
NFC North: Minnesota Vikings
NFC South: New Orleans Saints
NFC West: Seattle Seahawks
NFC Wildcards: Washington Redskins; Philadelphia Eagles
AFC East: New England Patriots
AFC North: Pittsburgh Steelers
AFC South: Indianapolis Colts
AFC West: San Diego Chargers
AFC Wildcards: Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills
NFC Championship: Washington Redskins over Seattle Seahawks
AFC Championship: San Diego Chargers over New England Patriots
Super Bowl: San Diego Chargers over Washington Redskins
Sleeper: Buffalo Bills (if they can ever get Jason Peters to report to camp, they'd be even more loaded, but I like they're defense with the additions of Stroud and Kawika Mitchell and also a healthy Posluszny)
Choker: New York Giants (last year alot of things fell into place, now they've lost their two best pass rushers, and also Shockey, Gibril Wilson, and Kawika Mitchell, I just don't see them duplicating last year's miracle)
Worst: Atlanta Falcons or Kansas City Chiefs (I think Miami will be better)
Lions Record: 9-7, just miss out on playoffs...
WTFchris 08-25-2008, 03:32 PM Man, you guys are both on the Steelers, I see.
I don't suppose that you've checked out their schedule, have you?
I'll probably pick them in the North, too, but that's just as much wishful thinking as it being realistic.
I have not looked at the schedule. But, it should be pretty close to the rest of that division anyway (only 4 teams will differ at most). I think Mendenhall teamed with Parker will make the running game that much better and eliminate some of the pressure Big Ben had on him last year.
I was torn between them and SD in the playoffs.
MoTown 08-25-2008, 03:48 PM I have to be honest with you, I haven't paid attention much this offseason. So here are my uneducated guesses:
NFC East Champ: Philadelphia
NFC North Champ: Minnesota
NFC South Champ: New Orleans
NFC West Champ: Seattle
NFC Wildcard teams (2): Dallas, St. Louis
AFC East Champ: New England
AFC North Champ: Pittsburgh
AFC South Champ: Indianapolis
AFC West Champ: San Diego
AFC Wildcard teams (2): Jacksonville, Houston
NFC Championship game: Seattle vs. New Orleans
AFC Championship game: New England vs. San Diego
Super Bowl: New Orleans vs. New England
Champion: New England
Sleeper: Houston
Choker: NY Jets
Worst: Atlanta
Lions record: 6-10, but possibly 15-1
Tahoe 08-25-2008, 09:31 PM NFC East Champ: Dallas
NFC North Champ: Vikes
NFC South Champ: Bucs
NFC West Champ: Seattle
NFC Wildcard teams (2): Lions, Saints
AFC East Champ: Pats
AFC North Champ: Pits
AFC South Champ: Jags
AFC West Champ: Broncos
AFC Wildcard teams (2): Titans, Colts
NFC Championship game: Dallas, Seattle
AFC Championship game: Colts, Jags
Super Bowl: Dallas, Colts
Champion: Colts
Sleeper: Raiders
Choker: Lions
Worst: Ravens
Lions record: 7-9
Jethro34 08-25-2008, 10:04 PM I should have picked Atlanta for worst. Good call.
WTFchris 08-25-2008, 10:19 PM NFC East Champ: Dallas
NFC North Champ: Vikes
NFC South Champ: Bucs
NFC West Champ: Seattle
NFC Wildcard teams (2): Lions, Saints
AFC East Champ: Jets
AFC North Champ: Pits
AFC South Champ: Jags
AFC West Champ: Broncos
AFC Wildcard teams (2): Titans, Colts
NFC Championship game: Dallas, Seattle
AFC Championship game: Colts, Jags
Super Bowl: Dallas, Colts
Champion: Lions
Sleeper: Lions
Choker: Lions
Worst: Lions
Lions record: X-XX
So they are the worst wildcard team in history but unexpected to make it so thus a sleeper. Then they choked in the playoffs by ending their Super Bowl drought.
Seems pretty clear.

Glenn 08-30-2008, 10:38 PM So Tahoe's got the Patriots missing the playoffs and they aren't considered his choker?

The LA Rams might be even worse.
Glenn 08-30-2008, 10:45 PM And UxKa has the Rams winning the NFC West and doesn't have them as his sleeper?
Oops, Oakland lol. What's sad is I was looking at a list of teams listed by city, not nickname.
As far as the Rams, they had a lot of injuries last year and aren't really as bad as that record was. Plus winning that division isn't that great of a feat.
Tahoe 08-31-2008, 09:13 PM So Tahoe's got the Patriots missing the playoffs and they aren't considered his choker?
I still have time. If I post my genius picks, y'all will say, why didn't I think of that and copy me. youbuyinwhatimsellin

WTFchris 09-15-2008, 06:53 PM Not sure why I didn't put Philly as a sleeper (I have thought they would be prior to week 1). I feel pretty good about my picks. Only thing I would change is to bump Denver from wildcard to division champs and Buffalo in the mix with the Jets for the wildcard with SD.
I'd also swap GB and the Vikings at this point (with GB taking the division).
WTFchris 12-09-2008, 02:22 PM Predictions (in order posted):
I'm going to edit this and color code the picks. Green = Correct, Blue = close (maybe WC vs Division), Red = wrong.

Lots of Seattle picks look bad. Also Jags and San Diego picks were dissapointments. My Titans as chokers pick was pretty bad (though I was right on Young). Also a big LOL@ the Falcons being worst in some minds and the Giants being chokers.
Glenn 12-09-2008, 02:26 PM Don't nuthin' include Glenno.
MoTown 12-09-2008, 02:26 PM LOL @ the Lions predictions.
