Steelers made the Eagles D look like butter on that first drive.

You know, Drew Stanton is not all that bad. I'm sure it will be different with starters in there, but I don't understand why Orlovsky is ahead of Drew on the depth chart.

^ Agree. He was better, imo.

Just a general thought on the team...It seems that the 80th guy on the depth chart is as good as the first replacements on this team. Its like we have our starters than the rest are all about the same to me. I did like some of our DBs and a couple of the D line at the end of the game.

But the truth is, it just seemed like Cinci didn't show up. I don't know how you do that when you're playing at home, but they were really disinterested imo. I mean, it can't be that we played good.

Now you're a true Lions fan.

I think that team just hates Marvin Lewis and I wouldn't be surprised if they lay down this year to get him canned.

Why do they hate him? I thought he was considered a good coach.

Its really fucked up, but I still love seeing those Honolulu blue unis. I remember watching them as a kid and winning the division wasn't even considered. It was just about watching them play. I'm sure WCF loves fans like me.

I'm the same way, unfortunately.

ABUSED FANS UNITE!

Same reason why Dizon is not #1 on the depth chart. Rod just makes them earn it. it wouldn't surprise me to see him #2 by the regular season. Especially with the new blocking scheme and the bootlegs and such. Stanton could do very well in this scheme with his mobility.

Dizon was getting a pretty good scolding by one of the coaches last night. He totally missed something. The coach walked away shaking his head.

Stanton made things happen in less than a quarter of snaps. Danny O didn't, imo.

Stanton was playing against a bunch of guys that are going to end up cut, too. You have to remember he was playing 3rd string, Dan-O was playing 2nd. Its not a huge difference, but its still a difference. I'd like to see the Lions give Stanton some 2nd string reps, just to give him the reps

Not sure if I"m following that totally....But Stanton was playing 'with' a bunch of guys that are going to end up cut too. We can't just say he playing a softer D without mentioning his Oline, etc were not starters.

I'm just saying its lesser all around. Just like the jump from college to pros is a jump even though there's college players on both sides, a jump from third string to NFL starter is a jump because the talent level is higher on both sides.

right, but as Tahoe is saying his WR's and O-line won't make the team either. Success in preseason doesn't equate to regular season success, but it certainly helps. If nothing else it builds confidence.

Plus there is no way to compare 2nd string to 3rd string (Dan O's defenses vs Stanton's). There are plenty of guys held out for injuries they otherwise play through. There also isn't any game planning until the 3rd of 4th preseason game.

All you can take out of this is confidence really.

I liked Stantons delivery or touch on his 1st TD, and his scrambling ability. Danny O would've had a TD if he led ??? in the 2nd(?) quarter.

Stanton didn't have near the snaps and produced 4 or 5 times the points IN THIS GAME. I'm just saying that I like the guy. C Johnson was pumpin him up. He looks like a well-liked guy.

I suppose you guys are right. I do hope he grabs the 2nd string spot before the season starts, or at least at some point during the season. The only time I've ever seen Dan-O play was when he was kicking our (University of Toledo) ass playing for UConn.

Drew Stanton = 2nd round pick in 2nd year.
That should answer any questions about who the heir to the throne of Kitna (the Lions greatest QB EVA!)

Nice catch/hands by Roy

Kitna's scrambling ability still surprises me.

Clevelands DLine seems to be really good. At least they had been stopping Smith. So that cut back for a TD must have felt great for Smith.
