View Full Version : Predict the Lions 2008 record Glenn 08-07-2008, 05:48 PM I'll go with 5-11, 4-12 wouldn't surprise me a bit, either Zekyl 08-07-2008, 05:52 PM I think we'll pull off the same record as last year. We won't start 6-2 but we won't finish 1-7 either. Jethro34 08-07-2008, 05:53 PM 1 Sun, Sep 7 @ Atlanta Win 2 Sun, Sep 14 Green Bay Win 3 Sun, Sep 21 @ San Francisco Loss 4 BYE WEEK 5 Sun, Oct 5 Chicago Win 6 Sun, Oct 12 @ Minnesota Loss 7 Sun, Oct 19 @ Houston Loss 8 Sun, Oct 26 Washington Loss 9 Sun, Nov 2 @ Chicago Loss 10 Sun, Nov 9 Jacksonville Loss 11 Sun, Nov 16 @ Carolina Loss 12 Sun, Nov 23 Tampa Bay Win 13 Thu, Nov 27 Tennessee Loss 14 Sun, Dec 7 Minnesota Win 15 Sun, Dec 14 @ Indianapolis Loss 16 Sun, Dec 21 New Orleans Loss 17 Sun, Dec 28 @ Green Bay Loss What's that? 5-11? My margin of error is +/- 2 Glenn 08-07-2008, 05:55 PM The over/under is 6.5, btw (bodog) Tahoe 08-07-2008, 05:58 PM What a friggin crap shoot this is. Fuck, I don't know, I'll just say shitty. Glenn 08-07-2008, 06:05 PM ^lol Okay who's going to be the first optimistic d-bag to start chirping? I consider that to be anything higher than 7-9. MoTown 08-07-2008, 07:06 PM I think the Lions have a good shot this year. I really think Millen has learned from his mistakes, and he made the right additions this year. All the Lions have to do on offense is throw the ball in the air and either Roy or CJ is going to come down with it. Our running game is going to be pretty good because the rookie we got has been very solid. On defense, we upgraded the secondary by adding a 7th round draft pick and Leigh Bodden. The middle is still anchored by Paris Lennon. The defense will do its job. I can't see this team losing a lot, especially with the talent and ex-Buccaneers on this squad. I say 13-3 best, 12-4 worst. My margin of error is +/- 2 It's easy to sit there and say which games a team is going to lose/win...if you're not a fan of the Lions. There may be some games in there that they "should" win, but you know they're bound to lose a couple of them. Zekyl 08-08-2008, 11:25 AM And at least one game they have no right being even close in that they win. But just one. Glenn 08-08-2008, 11:26 AM And at least one game they have no right being even close in that they win. But just one. And it usually causes them to fall about 6 draft positions. Jethro34 08-08-2008, 01:55 PM And it usually causes them to fall about 6 draft positions. Fuckers. Countdown to my annual "How the Lions can help themselves in the draft by laying down against the Bucs, Titans, and Vikings" thread... WTFchris 08-08-2008, 07:40 PM And it usually causes them to fall about 6 draft positions. Except that 3 of the last 4 teams are probably playoff bound (or will be fighting for a spot). I would say all 4, but I doubt Minny or GB will be the wild card (one will win the division). So it will be hard to get that worthless win unless one of those teams have nothing to play for. Glenn 08-21-2008, 04:58 PM That buttfuck Ray Bentley picked the Lions to win 10 games, "maybe even 11". BubblesTheLion 08-25-2008, 01:27 PM The lions are going to be great; you shellshocked pessimists will burn in the fire of Allah's flatulence. Tahoe 08-26-2008, 02:06 PM I don't follow the Lions depth anymore, but to me the position that lacks depth the most is QB. With Kit being concussion prone, the #2 is a pocket passer. I don't trust our Oline to protect him. It seems to me we have abnormally agressive CBs and safeties. They'll prolly get torched in game 1 with 4tds and end all of that, but they do look a lil better to me. RBs have depth. WE HAVE A TIGHT END! I like that new guy. I'd Millen has drafted enough WRs, so we're ok there. To me its the QB position that if Kit goes down, the rest of our season could be a snakes ass or something. DrRay11 08-26-2008, 02:26 PM To me its that if the season starts, the rest of our season could be a snakes ass or something. Fikst. Jethro34 08-26-2008, 02:52 PM Originally I said 5-11 going game by game. I'm now leaning toward 7-9. Yes, it's cornbread. 3 meaningless preseason wins in 3 chances helps a lot, but I've been impressed by what I've seen when our 1st team was facing the opponent's 1st team. I think we can win a couple I was previously doubtful of. I'm buying what Marinelli is selling. (I still think he needs dental work, however) Tahoe 08-26-2008, 02:57 PM ^ Jethro, kind of believing in now. WTFchris 08-28-2008, 03:46 PM ESPN's not serving any cornbread: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/preview08/team?team=det MoTown 08-28-2008, 03:56 PM A couple of them did pick Smith to be offensive Rookie of the Year. LOL Moodini31 08-28-2008, 06:43 PM 6-10. Wilfredo Ledezma 08-28-2008, 10:01 PM I'm switching from 7-9, to 9-7. Glenn 08-28-2008, 11:24 PM I'm switching from 7-9, to 9-7. :cornbread: 5 wins, 6 tops Find the 9 wins in that schedule. DrRay11 08-29-2008, 10:04 AM 3-13. Glenn 08-29-2008, 10:05 AM Anyone over the 8 win mark in this poll is wrong and has learned nothing. WTFchris 08-29-2008, 10:28 AM 20-0 MoTown 08-29-2008, 11:39 AM I agree with Chris. Not only are the Lions going undefeated this year in the regular season and playoffs, they'll be sending their entire team to Hawaii for the Pro-Bowl. Of course, while they're there, they'll destroy the AFC by at least 30. Simple math, bitches. WTFchris 08-29-2008, 11:40 AM True, 20 is not right (I forgot the playoffs). So that's 23-0 I guess. Jethro34 09-03-2008, 11:07 AM I now predict the Lions willn play the Bengals in the Superbowl and Rudi will be the MVP as he crushes his former team with 207 yards and 3 TD. WTFchris 09-03-2008, 11:57 AM I don't have enough room on the screen to put enough zero's in the %chance they both make the superbowl. WTFchris 09-22-2008, 05:38 PM So they are 0-3 now. When do they get their first win? Sun, Oct 5 Chicago Sun, Oct 12 @ Minnesota Sun, Oct 19 @ Houston Sun, Oct 26 Washington Sun, Nov 2 @ Chicago Sun, Nov 9 Jacksonville Sun, Nov 16 @ Carolina Sun, Nov 23 Tampa Bay Thu, Nov 27 Tennessee Sun, Dec 7 Minnesota Sun, Dec 14 @ Indianapolis Sun, Dec 21 New Orleans Sun, Dec 28 @ Green Bay I see 2-3 wins on the schedule, max. The Lions will have a top 5 pick this year, book it. Tahoe 09-22-2008, 06:49 PM I could seriously see us going 0-16 and thats hard to do. If Millen gets to make this pick, I'm ... I'm going to move California or something. Thank God for the KC Chiefs. On Dan Patricks show today the question was 'could USC beat KC? How we dodged being the Pro team is beyond me. Tahoe 09-22-2008, 07:18 PM Could you imagine if Al Davis was the owner of the Lions...and how long (or short) Millen would be employed here. Tahoe 10-26-2008, 10:56 PM What a friggin crap shoot this is. Fuck, I don't know, I'll just say shitty. Hey, how low does shitty go? I think shitty goes to Zero wins, correct? WTFchris 10-27-2008, 11:21 AM Look at how wrong we were. Nobody picked them worse than 5-11. Fool 10-27-2008, 11:49 AM I picked them 1-15 because I'm an expert on football. I really love this shtick. Glenn 10-27-2008, 11:51 AM I would have been right (5 wins) if they hadn't fired Millen and exiled the Miracle Man. WTFchris 12-09-2008, 02:13 PM It's official. Everybody lost this one. Tahoe 12-09-2008, 03:07 PM It's official. Everybody lost this one. What a friggin crap shoot this is. Fuck, I don't know, I'll just say shitty. Shitty includes 0-? BubblesTheLion 12-10-2008, 01:10 PM Why has god forsaken me? Glenn 12-10-2008, 01:12 PM What? You were only off by 10 wins or so. MoTown 12-10-2008, 01:24 PM DrRay can still win. He didn't vote, but he said 3-13 in a post. DrRay owns. I was second closest. |
