- April 5th, 3-0 lead after 5 innings. We lose 5-3 to Chicago

- May 4th, score 6 runs in the 1st inning, lose the game 7-6 to Minnesota

- May 16th, 3-1 lead after 6 innings. Lose 4-3 to an offensively retarded D'Backs team

- May 27th, 2-0 lead after 7 innings, lose 3-2 to the Angels

- June 3rd, 2-1 lead after 6 innings, lose 3-2 to the Athletics

- June 4th, 4-3 lead after 7 innings, lose 5-4 to the Athletics

- June 16th, 4-3 lead after 7 innings where we OWNED Lincecum, Bowker hit's a bomb off of Rodney, we lose 8-6 in San Fran

- July 5th, 2-1 after 7 innings, we lose 3-2 to Seattle

- July 10th, 6-2 lead after 6 innings!! We lose 7-6 Vs. the Twins

- July 18th, 4-3 lead after 5 innings, we lose 7-4 Vs. the Orioles

- July 19th, 6-2 lead after the 1st, 7-2 lead after the 2nd, quickly becomes a 10-9 lead after the 6th, we don't score again and lose in the 10th, via a Luke Scott walk off HR from the O's

- July 25th, 4-1 lead after 3, 5-4 lead after 8, Jermaine Dye 2 run HR with 2 outs in the 9th, Sox win 5-4

- August 3rd, 2-0 lead after 6, 5-4 lead after 10, Tampa Bay wins 6-5 via walk off walk

- August 5th, 6-1 lead after 5, 8-6 lead after 14, Nick fucking Swisher goes yard for the Win...

*notice in just about all these losses, we have a hard time scoring a run after we first get a lead...

Bullpen Stats

Currently, our pen has an aggregate ERA of 4.23, which ranks 23rd amongst all big league teams...

Our pen's overall record is 17-19, we've gone 21/65 in save opportunities, we've allowed the 4th most walks in the entire league (186), and we have the 2nd fewest strikeouts (241), also have allowed the 13th most hits of any bullpen (341)...

given the amount of innings our pen has had to throw this year, it's amazing we have such few K's and so many walks...

18 ONE RUN LOSSES!

If we could've just won half of those one run games, we'd be sitting on top of the division right now.

Unfucking real.

Hard to believe we had the best pen in the world in '06...

the thing is, is that back in spring or even back to last year, we all said the bullpen is going to be a problem and they didn't do anything about it

Once again, based on how they're grooming the prospects from the 2008 draft, I expect more than one to be on the fact track to help this team by the end of next year.
It's strange because all the spending and trading of prospects made most people think this was the year, but more and more it sounds like it won't happen for Detroit for another couple years.

So Farnsworth gives up a grand slam and follows it up with a 4 ER blown save last night. Surprisingly we don't lead the majors in blown saves, but they said during the game Sunday we lead the AL in losses after 7 innings or something like that.

You have to have a lead to blow a save.

And our starting pitching is Nagasaki.

The whole staff is a wreck.
