(Sorry, I'm not "In The Know" with college sports, but I'm trying) Timone 08-05-2008, 08:33 AM Orchard Lake St. Mary's Glenn 08-05-2008, 08:34 AM Clevelanders. Timone 08-05-2008, 08:39 AM I was at the OLSM/Melvindale game. They (OLSM) won 35-12 and Sims only caught one ball. Garbage. Zekyl 08-05-2008, 08:39 AM Hmm, you'd think I'd have picked up on that seeing as I'm officially the "Cleveland guy". I'll have to brush up on my Cleveland facts. Zek, when I typed "Clevelanders." in #4, I was actually shaking my head at you in disappointment. Imagine the motion that Chris McCosky makes whilst reading his email. Zekyl 08-05-2008, 08:59 AM Ahh, now I get it. I suppose a Clevelander would be too slow to pick up on that. Jethro34 08-05-2008, 09:36 AM Football? Basketball? Both? Being realistic here, I hope - for Sims sake - he picks one and only one. Hard not to compare him to Trannon who blew his shot to play for pay after college because he couldn't pick. Had Trannon been thinking ahead and said, "Hey, basketball players make a good living in the NFL as TE's. I should convert and focus.", he would have been drafted. Instead he kept thinking he was a wideout and hoops didn't allow him to put the effort into learning how to block better, run better routes, and add a little more size. Sims is already a TE (though some think he would be better as a DE) so that helps. Many people think he prefers hoops, but there is far less opportunity for him at the pro level in hoops, and PT should be more plentiful at the college level in football - compared to pine riding for Spartan basketball. bukdow 08-05-2008, 09:42 AM Football? From what I am hearing, both. Frankly, I think they are kind of humoring the kid and hope he sees that football is his real future. I think your observation about Trannon converting to TE is a good one and Sims should give that some serious thought. Wilfredo Ledezma 08-05-2008, 02:39 PM I thought that Sims WAS a TE, at least per Scout he is. Jethro34 08-05-2008, 02:40 PM Football? Basketball? Both? How's it going Wil? Wilfredo Ledezma 08-05-2008, 03:20 PM on bukdows last post, he said Sims should consider moving to TE Zekyl 08-05-2008, 03:23 PM I think he meant that Sims should look at the story of the other Trannon, that if Trannon had converted to TE and stuck with football, he'd be in the NFL potentially. Sims should consider that and just stick with playing TE for them instead of football AND basketball. Wilfredo Ledezma 08-05-2008, 07:10 PM Well I'll be damned. bukdow 08-06-2008, 11:08 AM Looks like a false alarm. Now, it is being said Sims will not make a decision for another couple of months because he wants to hold out for a basketball only scholarship. I think the kid needs to hang up the basketball dream. He appears to be a fairly talented tweener and nothing more. Zip Goshboots 08-07-2008, 01:30 AM He's probably gay. Wizzle 08-07-2008, 09:01 AM ^lol theMUHMEshow 08-07-2008, 11:45 PM he should wait until signing day & keep his mouth shut about playing hoops or football... bukdow 08-08-2008, 10:57 AM he should wait until signing day & keep his mouth shut about playing hoops or football... I have heard it said that some football people are little leary of his committment to football because he (Sims) has made it clear that basketball is his first choice. The kid is a great talent, but he needs to get his head screwed on straight and start addressing realities instead of only his desires. theMUHMEshow 08-08-2008, 01:56 PM I have heard it said that some football people are little leary of his committment to football because he (Sims) has made it clear that basketball is his first choice.
